ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Pain would be a great fit for us wide left. Impressed by him. Could become quite a significant player for MV this year.
And yes, he should have been subbed on much earlier. If not starting. Second game was where he Okon should have refreshed his lineup.

Quick look around TransferMarkt suggests

Marcel Seip - Off contract , 31, former blades player, currently at VVV-Venlo who were just relegated.
As a replacement Venlo have signed Pim Balkestein from AFC Wimbledon - if Seip is comparable with Balkestein then the portents are not good :(
Of course, any Dutch player coming in to replace Patrick Zwaanswijk is under no pressure. No pressure at all!

Talking about Pain, what about Payne? Anyone think he has a chance of getting onto the A-League side? He has had red hot form for the Academy side, statistically speaking.

Personally, no. I don't think he will. When you compare him to other young strikers playing at the same level who are on NYL deals, you can see the difference.

Hey, I could be wrong but I just can't see it.

so does this mean that we can get an extra visa player possibly a marquee player

I'm not sure on this.
I don't know what the rules are in regards to players becoming Aus citizens & how long until they can be classed as a local player. In saying that though, I find it hard to believe that Perth had him as one of their 5 foreign players.

He was actually promoted from their NYL squad

Billy Konstantinidis has returned to his hometown of Melbourne after seven years of playing professionally in Greece's football league. The tall striker, known for his stints at Iraklis, Veria, Niki Volos and Pierikos among others, is now in talks with three A-League clubs, including Melbourne Heart, Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners. After falling in love with the sport in the Victorian Premier League, he's hoping to jump start his Australian career again.

Because we need another striker, specially one who can count three seasons worth of goals on two hands.

Shuffle on please.
