Email from my Manly Utd mate -
"you signed a youngster from the AIS, Anthony Kalik...saw him playing for Manly as a 13yr old, was already pinging corners to the far post at that age...very gifted and physically advanced...very interesting signing"

Has anyone seen the video of Matt Simon and Liam Reddy? Quite funny making a joke out of their hostilities and trying to put the fans minds at ease

My guess is Arnie won't 'rape' the club of talent and tarnish what he has achieved during his tenure here.
Yes, in the future we might see a player or two head his way, but i think he'd maintain a close bond with Mossie and any transfers would be of mutual benefit.

Arnie's priority and loyalty will be to his new employers not his old. That's absolutely as it should be.

If there is a player or players he wants and it's good for the new club and our player, he will take them.

There is no sentiment or loyalty in football.

Hope you are wrong Fulham.

Not sure too many of our players would make the grade in Japan anyway. They tend to take us to school at both club and national level.

Maybe Tesco, Weemac and Flores are Japan standard.

I doubt Arnie would mug the mariners...the japs aint big on gaijin players anyway are they ?

That was always on the cards. The key question will be how much is Arnie willing to pay for him. I would expect nothing but an A League transfer record. As to Bernie I hope it gets sorted out and he comes back to the club. Sydney can't fit him and neither can WSW as both their squads are full, We still have one place available so hopefully this money issue is sorted.

Sorry Berni - You can't have it all. You wanted to leave Aus but you just weren't as good as your thought you were.

I understand the family issues are a legit one but the money they are paying you i'm sure you can take her with you.

SFC trying to take our right side from last year. Pedj now Ibini.

As for McGlinchey would Arnie really use one of 4 spots or worse his only 1 asian slot on McGlinchey? He is good no doubt but this is where you go get players with your asian money that A League clubs only dream of.

Could also means Rogic to Arnie is not realistic

Interesting as you say one line with no details. A very big teaser. Like I know something you don't know but can't say but it starts with McG.

.
Can't use Asian slot as McGlinchey is NZ in Oceania. If you were to poach any mariners player, it would be Sainsbury.

Yep forgot about that. So highly doubtful Arnie would take McGlinchey with one of 3 foreign spots. Those spots/coin are usually reserved for Brazilians.

Really depends on what Arnie's team needs but Trent would be a good one for him & trent as would put some serious heat on the Socceroos if he played well.

. trent going with arnie has been my biggest concern player-wise

. i suspect it would be good for trent's development and he would get proper game time (said without knowing anything about the playing roster at vegemite sandwich)

. arnie will still see himself as a mentor to 'his boys' regardless of where either end up around the world ... and both arnie and trent know he does not 'trial' well because of his 'relaxed' personality. both could see it as a good match in a better shop window

More mention of McGlinchey going with Arnie in the SMH today.

I really don't like Arnie targeting players and staff that were with the club before he arrived. It's fine for him to move on, but causing major disruption to his old club won't leave a great impression (at least with me anyway).

"Talk continues to rage about McGlinchey following Graham Arnold to Vegalta Sendai - and why not? He's the Mariners' best player. He'll be a handful if the Sky Blues give him space."

I really don't think Mikey will go. Foreign non-Asian spot seems a huge risk when he could pick up some Brazilian or what have you.
