ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

. well there has certainly been some humorous responses to the new shirt, some of the comments i agree with:
  • the wrong type of tree
  • the four stylised trees on the back last year were subtle ... i thought it kinda cute
  • nothing subtle about this one
  • appears likely to hurt potential sales amongst the faithful
  • we have had better

. some of the comments i don't agree with:
  • the acl kit is great
  • bring back the vertical stripes
  • signing the petition
. personally i don't like the acl shirt ... and can't help but think 'and the winner of little miss central coast for 2015 is ...'

. i don't care if it is a 'traditional football strip' ... i don't know if it appeals to people other than the 'tradition football fan'

. i have heard other people say they 'hate the stupid seatbelt shirt' ... maybe if we still had 'arrive alive' as a shirt sponsor it could work

. also not a fan of the vertical stripes which people seem to like

. signing a petition proclaiming my embarrassment when the petition does not even spell embarrassing correctly ... just doesn't seem right

. my favourite has always been the second(?) reebok shirt (our first premiership winning shirt) - with the nice central coast logo on the front. i also didn't mind the hummel ... mostly because it was available in a ladies cut!

. so maybe this shirt will encourage people to buy ... people who 'traditionally' have not bought them. they should be compulsory for every bucks night in the central coast

. some of the comments that have confused me:
  • buying merchandise got you a say in the design - a couple of you guys have mentioned it and i am not sure where that message has come from ... or how it could possibly work
  • the design proves that we are here to stay, like the palm trees at the stadium ... there were four palm trees on the shirt last year and that was the year that had most issues with talk of potential for relocation
. i also wonder how many people might travel to the central coast now only to be disappointed that we don't have palm tree lined beaches :p

. some of the information on merchandise that i gleaned from this or the previous administration:
  • we have never had the supporter base/numbers/shirt sales/bargaining position to do a deal with a supplier that other clubs can
  • we struggle to make any money from merchandise (i know many of you will argue it is because of what is or isn't on offer ... but you must also realise it is never as simple as that ... and you are never going to please everybody)
  • buying/ordering the bulk quantities to improve the deal is beyond our means/reasonable expectations
  • the latest kappa deal was inherited by the current administration
  • they are now trying to make it as affordable as possible
. the simple fact is many fans can't afford or are unwilling to spend $100+ on a shirt, even fewer can afford or are willing to do it year after year

That last point fits me and my family to a tee. I bet I'm not alone too.

I understand from people in the trade that we're a pretty 'cheap' partner on merch. We're simply not big enough to demand either big dollars or a big range.

That's fine; I suspect (given how hard they're pushing into the teamwear market) that either Puma or Umbro might be keen to deal with us, and their advantage is that there's a great range of pretty stock off-field stuff that looks good as well as pretty good 'templates' for kits.

The advantage on the other suppliers is that there's a better chance of doing short runs of merch on relatively short turnarounds because they're simply embellishing stock items.

Kappa can do really nice 'custom' stuff, but they're small so 'special' likely means 'long turnaround'.

Two thoughts .. 1. How did they know who bought? - answer probably it was only those bought on-line (and able to come into the club); 2. Perhaps it is those who did not buy they should be targeting as much if not more?

I can see the focus group now ... here have an orange juice .. now tell me, what do you like in our shirts? A. I like yellow!, B. I like the palm trees! ... Beauty! Thanks for coming, here have some potato chips!

Same problem, just emailed the club about it.

Then looking around the site, found a 'create an account' where you provide your email address and 'set-up' the password.

Just click the silhouette of person next to the shopping cart ;)

Love the ACL/FFA Cup kit. Shame we only got to wear it for two matches! Please, please replace the Palm tree horror with that.

Can't keep wearing this kit as we haven't won a game yet wearing it (not superstitious at all!!)…….. but agree on getting rid of the palm tree
