ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Don't love the design. But I do love the idea behind it and it's a brave move, which I also like.

Makes me think of Marvin, our beloved mutant bumblebee penguin viking offspring... or whatever the f**k he was supposed to be. Marvin ruled. He was odd, he was ugly, and he was ours.

We've had some MUCH nicer strips, but to me it says the club is determined to place our values and identity above style and the world of football kit cliches. I like that a lot. And the thing about being different, even ugly, is that if you play beautifully for a great season, this will become a truly iconic CCM shirt.

I don't mind being a bit ugly or even mocked. It fits well with the league's best under dog side. I'll always love the shirt. Play good football in it, and I'll probably even learn to love that bloody design

cant say I hate it...at least you will know who the team is and besides....if the boys are accumulating 3 points after 3 points does a palm tree on a shirt really mean that much in the grand scheme
Have to agree with this but it really is bloody ugly.

me wonders how long it'll last...

good exposure though. I like the idea but they need to tone it down, or make it look good as opposed to like clipart

Kudos for the club for getting this sorted early though, last year we were at least at the end of September before we knew what the kit looked like.

Recky texted me ..."What do you think of the kit?"

I just got back from 5 days work in Melbourne so had seen nothing. I just googled it and have to say I was a little bit shocked.

My initial reaction is that it looks stupid.......but remove the palm tree from the front and put some navy trim on shorts and its pretty good.

I can't buy it like that but if they fix it up i'll get one.

Also why doesn't the blue strip have Masterfoods logo on it?

Zebara Clothing at Erina could fix it up for them in no time.

The blue strip is acceptable as someone else said.
The Goalkeepers` doesn`t really matter
The yellow, well I`m trying to like it but FFS use the same type of tree as we`ve got at CCStadium.(as mentioned previously)

Why? Because they're HERITAGE FCUKN LISTED Palm Tree's, not just any old tree. That's why!

They dont even know what's in their 'own backyard' so to speak.

What's next caps with palm tree on top ,palm tree hoodies
Hawaiian shirts , palm boardies, palm tree clappers
palm tree flags ,f**k me what a calamity of the highest order .We don't need small club mentality. Merchandising when done well can make a lot of money. And we know our club would like more dosh in the kitty. Now to our marketers would you wear it ,but wait,? Not just to a mariners game's .

Years ago, Manchester United had just 'completed' Old Trafford. Its four sides were all finished off as modern all-seater stands with corners filled in, so the ground was brought together in one basically seamless surrounding tier with rooves all meeting etc.

The club was very proud that their 'masterplan' had been completed and celebrated by putting an image of the ground on the shirt. For two years the kit that had an image of the newly wiz-bang Old Trafford woven into the fabric. It was just contrasting matte and shiny weave fabric.

I was about 12 when it came out and I thought it was the duck's nuts.

Of course they waited about a year before they put another two decks on the northern stand and began their new masterplan (which appears to be to keep plastering new bits on until it all collapses under the weight of its own self-importance), but I digress.

Instead of putting a f**king palm tree on the shirt, it'd have been amazing if there could be a *subtle* image of our ground worked into the jersey somehow.

It's not like we don't have iconic images that would be perfect for the job:

But instead we got a really pretty ordinary looking palm tree slapped on.
