Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

f**k it, get rid of him.
No clue on strategy. Doesn't adapt. Doesn't coach the team out of basic, basic defensive errors (Why is Kennedy still marking strikers at the corners, and why don't we have anybody on the far post?). We all complained that Okon didn't have anything beyond Plan A - at least he had a Plan A.

Mulvey seems to be 'just go out and have fun boys' - though from all reports on here, that seems to be the attitude in the prematch kickabout.

I mean, MM came into this job with absolutely no idea what was required for the team this season and utterly destroyed all our chances as a result.
Although if he was so clueless on our club, the players he looked at, and where the league is, then why the hell did MC and SM hire him?

I'll take Okon over Mulvey anyday. Though I'd flick those two off to the trashpile with Kennedy before that.

Pappas worth a shot?

We almost need to take no risks with the next appointment and choose someone well and truly proven. Oh and give them the cap to work with.
Yes yes I know Mulvey leaving is still just rumour but I'm ready to start throwing around ideas

Definitely back in the out camp. Can’t recruit properly and game plans are horrible and slow to react and subs are head scratchers
Like Oar for Tom because we needed more thrust forward

I’ve sat on the fence for a long time but after tonight, he can pack his bags.

If you compare him to Rudan, a coach in similar circumstances, low budget, club in almost basket case position but he has coached them like he personally has something to prove, a real desire to win every game.

I don’t see anything like that with Mulvey. I thought he said the line in the sand had been drawn, that the time for mediocrity was over back at the end of last season. What a crock of s#@t.

Unfortunately we really need a Shankly type coach, a saviour and leader.

Problem will be not only finding one, but affording one and then give him the budget to do what needs to be done.

Nope, unless there is some drastic changes the time for mediocrity will continue for a bit longer yet.

Was making good progress... then we get that load of disorganised passionless rubbish. He should have been furious on the sidelines. But he just looked defeated.

Not the first coach we’ve seen with that look in recent years. I don’t think any of our coaches have been good enough. But the Problem is deeper than our coaches. We obviously need a proper spend at the proper time with a proper clean out and proper recruitment. This hasn’t happened.

Our recruitment for the most part has been beyond terrible. From McCormack and Gameiro to weemac and Cisse. Disastrous. And to top it off, the one new player who was a stand out, we’re losing and our best player has spent far too much time on the bench.

If we bounce back this week and look like the team of the past 5 weeks I’ll stay my hand, but otherwise, just too much rubbish has occurred and he can pack his bags. Had a gutful.

Have to agree with most. Mulvey has to go.
Its a shame my post was deleted a month ago. I knew what i was talking about. Mulvey is an imposter and the way he acted and put shit on previous coaches was unproffessional.
Has no idea and his recruitment had been crap. Also worth checking any kickbacks received. don’t get fooled by the “we have no money arguement”. Cisse, gamero and co are covering a fair bit of the salary cap. You would be surprised by the names of players he turned back. He had over 50 trialists he insisted on.

If he goes I hope it’s a mutual agreement, i’m sure we are paying him well for his supposed experience. As someone put it, he is an imposter and I voted yes and never changed that even though we were kind of improving. Okon looks like a super coach compared to Mulvey.

I was thinking that he went it would be because the FFA were after him.
Surely they'd pay us compensation.

Probably a couple of old footballs and second hand goal posts.
And a spirit level to sort the COE pitch out.

Who on earth is going to want to take this job if Mulvey goes? It's a poisoned chalice and it has been for a while now.
