Those thoughts have crossed my mind also. I was thinking it could be a real scenario if he gets punted from the NT job.

In his final speech before leaving us for Japan, he said "I will be back".

While romantic, there is zero chance a coach of that caliber will come anywhere near this club in its current guise.

With new owners, and new management - maybe.

We'd need to provide some iron clad assurances for any quality coach IMO, perhaps to the point of having their budget and autonomy specified in their contract and grounds for us to pay them out in full if not fulfilled. Extreme and borderline foolish clauses but how else do you prove you're serious and will deliver.

I have it on good authority that Mulvey has not offered Tommy H a new contract.
Jem looks decent enough but no where near the quality of Tom.
We are likely to lose O'Neill at the end of the season so we 100% need to get him signed up to a minimum 2 year deal before we lose him to a more cerebral team.
For that reason i am changing my vote to Mulvey out

If we loose Tommy H and O'Neil then we deserve to be booted out .

I have no idea how MC has structured local decision making, but we are a shambles of a club today....

Hal itself is in trouble today heaps of reasons FFA / Steven Lowy etc... however blaming them for everything and all troubles totally masks the ineptitude, incompetence shown by our management team over the last say 4 to 5 years.

Were we go from here is anyone's guess .... like this is our mission statement
We the incompetent
Lead by the inept
Owned by the Foolish
Run by the Lazy
Do the best we can

If Jem does well he'll end up at Sydney with ALF anyway.
Tom is a quality player who wants to play for us, there aren't a lot of them floating around at the moment and he's willing to let him go? :headbutt: You'd want to have a solid replacement lined up or we're going to look very stupid.. and shit.

I’m not happy Middy. But I’m unsure how much of this is ineptitude and laziness vs under resourced and over challenged.

Same result. But I think the distinction matters.

If the club paid any attention to the fans, they’d know that re-signing Tom right now would be about the smartest move they can make in terms of creating any good will.

Shaun I hope you’re reading.

Perhaps overpaying for Mcglinchey and Simon was a mistake. Feel free to reserve judgement but don't be surprised if we end up starting Melling again and resigning Hoole.
Edit: Also it may not be any of those things you mentioned - we are assuming MM and Tom are all good after whatever went down earlier in the season but MM may just be in a position where he feels forced, or is being forced by MC, to play him and harbours some ill will.

Disagree
Just saying we spent another say 400K on the squad I am sure our results would be different .... I also assume with better results our crowd would be up say 2K per match..

13 Home games @ 2, 000 people is 26, 000 @ $ 20.00 per ticket thats $ 520, 000.

If our management cannot get this across to MC then they should not be there... something is badly amiss

If the coaching staff don't think Tommy H is worth another contract, a player actively looking to stay with us despite the current state we're in then they can all get out. How is it fans are the only ones who see his quality? He's not worth a contract but Jacob ''Let me kick the ball out over the sideline under no pressure'' Melling is? Christ.

Agreed, it’s not just about bringing people back it’s keeping them there, our crowds haven’t exactly been doing well. From what I could see the only NSW team we host twice this season is WSW who have plenty of issues atm as well so our average isn’t likely to get much better.

Might be some confusion here.

Mine was just a point on ineptitude and laziness etc not that money should not be spent or that it would be an easy fix etc

Truth is they could all be horrendously inept and lazy and that’s why we’re in this position. But I just don’t know that to be true.

Management might also be repeatedly making your exact point for all I know and It’s been falling on deaf or disbelieving ears.

Its easy to work incredibly hard and ably on a project but due to being under resourced still fail badly. Or they could be utterly hopeless and deserve to be fired immediately.

We can fairly state the whole buck has to stop with the CEO line, and there is the possibility that he’s been sipping pina coladas and dropping the ball, but there is also the possibility he’s been under staffed and under resourced and just made a few gambles that he got wrong.

I just don’t really know what’s true. Bit of both possibly...

Is there any record of a football club manager producing one win in 18 rounds keeping their job.

This season's performance makes me wish we still had Okon.

Please hide all the sharp objects.

I'm pretty sure he said " I'll be back" when he left the smurfs too.
