ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

More "Home" games not at Home.....

It was a Crusty Demons event that damaged the pitch some years ago, and also damaged the drainage system.

We now have to wait to see if there is more damage to the pitch, and with the quite valid sensitivity about games being moved because of the poor surface excuse, and the poor surface that the team will have to play on - what went through their head in sending this to us?

Really the club administration needs to take a very hard look at themselves!

Some people will cry over anything the club does these days. The event is going ahead whether the Mariners like it or not. As tenants of the ground the club were probably asked to pass on these prices to boost ticket sales on behalf of stadium management. Big f**king deal. Any more whinging and it'll be like reading the express advocate around here.

Looks like there is an irony mark and a sarcasm mark... but they just look confusing to me. I just use :p - but if anyone finds something that can be used as an irony/sarcasm emoticon then pm me a link and i can add it to the list

Dont really see a problem with the club getting cheaper tickets for memebers?

. no problem with cheaper tickets

. the issue i have is that it is this type of event that has received criticism on here many types for the damage it does to the pitch and its drainage

. so if more games are postponed or moved because of a demonic invasion ... then yes we have a problem - saving a couple of bucks for interested members (and i assume if they were interested they would already have their tickets by now) will be largely irrelevant ... in my opinion it defeats the purpose.

Ultimately it is the stadiums issue, and not the mariners control

Once upon a time a long time ago ... our club was held to all others in all codes as the best run regional team certainly in football but maybe Australia... communicated and connected with the broad football community and buried it's roots into the frabic of local CC life... It used to make me proud...

We used to lauch and poke fun at the Scum and Con .. LOL ROFL .. imaging having that management team...

Today I am wondering aloud ... are we more like Con than that club who buries its roots deep into the community and local football...

. ok so as usual i am difficult to understand

. yes i know the event is going ahead anyway, yes i know it is beyond the mariners control

. but why the hell are they helping to sell an event (apparently not selling well) when this will only encourage more of the same pitch ruining events in the future

. i am not that fussed because i will never make a difference but:

. you only have to be half as cynical as me to see where this may be heading

I agree considering the problems that the stadium has had with the pitch, this would seem to be as bad an idea as you could imagine to hold.

Just for the record guys the Crusty Demons did not wreck the stadium surface it was a Motorcross event with Chad Reid that did the damage because they used dirt and built a track covering the entire surface. The Crusty's only use ramps and mats and then only one half of the pitch goal post to goal post on the Western side. Not a Crusty fan btw just getting the facts right.  :innocent:

Venue TBA, club have been made aware of dates the stadium will be unavailable for due to re-turfing.

Club didnt really have much say in the matter.

7 weeks without a home game at home this year.....

that's no biggie if the 3 or 4 games that would be in that spot are reshuffled into a good home stretch.

Could have been re turfed weeks ago...

Requiring a winter seeding over sew that then requires eradication come spring leaving a patchy pitch for an extended period or another re-turfing for a quick fix. And double the budget.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
well...i just walked past the stadium and the sideline on the tunnel side has been dug up about 3 inches down i guess for almost the whole side
