Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Why because the CC Bears will start a team in either the 2012 or 2013 season... they have heaps of money the backing of NEWS which brings the TerrOR and the Express... further if the last time is anything to go by the CCLC will pour heaps into their development... They also have Singo and his radio network we left ... Lets not forget Wyong Leagues..Plus Ch 9 and the Fosile AM stations...

Guy just showed me at work in this weeks... Rugby League Week .... The CC Bears & Perth look like being invited in...

NRL could expand as soon as 2013
30 Mar 2010 NRL CEO David Gallop says Perth and Central Coast are favourites to join the NRL as soon as 2013.

In the biggest expansion development since the return of Gold Coast, Gallop has dropped a bombshell in today’s Rugby League Week magazine in Australia by saying he supports the Bears and the Reds for inclusion and strongly hinting they could be in as soon as 2013.

"We need to stay focused on looking for increases in the current grant and cap but the new TV deal will allow us to consider expansion,” Gallop told RLW exclusively.

"There’s obviously advantages in having two teams, not one. Personally I see a lot of attraction in having a team from Perth back in the competition.

"No doubt the Central Coast are a leading contender. History shows new teams only need an 18-month lead-in time."

Known as the Western Reds from 1992-96, Perth were a victim of the Super League war, playing in the troubled 1997 season before being axed with more than $10million of debt at the end of that year. They were resurrected by the Western Australia Rugby League in 2006 with the aim of entering the NRL in 2011.

The Central Coast Bears would see North Sydney Bears moving to Gosford on the Central Coast, New South Wales and playing 10 games at Gosford and two at North Sydney Oval. It has been backed by a number of rugby league celebrities, including Phil Gould, Andrew Johns and Peter Sterling.

Gold Coast Titans entered the competition in 2007 after fighting off competition from Central Coast and the Wellington Orcas to become the 16th team in the NRL.

why should we be the only club with no competition? If we cant build our brand by 2013 (and I dont believe it for a second BTW) - we dont deserve to survive

He probably wanted to keep it on the down low for now, not antagonise AFL/get NRL peeps overly excited about a scenario that's not definite yet (or something).  League doesn't get 1/100th as much airtime and paper space over here, so he probably just wanted to get his opinion out there without the Telegraph running an 8 page special on it.

If they are thinking of perth why are they not pushing for a rectangular stadium with union and football for world cup publicly?

See - with 3 rectangular codes there they should be able to get and sustain a 45k (and at the very least a 45k convertible down to 25k) rectangle and the AFL can stick with the Caromadome at Subiaco (because it's a toilet).

Smart move really.

Encourage people to go to Krusty Demons

Pitch gets stuffed worse than it already is

Excuse to move more games to Canberra and pocket the $$

Quite clever

. and claim it is a member benefit as you got special pricing

. then when the drainage is shot they can also claim that it was our fault for patronising such events ... and you can't have everything - off-season entertainment and a decent football pitch

. ok i'm getting carried away

Dont really see a problem with the club getting cheaper tickets for memebers?

Is not something i could give a f**k about, but surely there are some members who will take this offer up happily.

$49 for cheapest junior ticket. Cheapest adult $69

So a decent deal

. no problem with cheaper tickets

. the issue i have is that it is this type of event that has received criticism on here many types for the damage it does to the pitch and its drainage

. so if more games are postponed or moved because of a demonic invasion ... then yes we have a problem - saving a couple of bucks for interested members (and i assume if they were interested they would already have their tickets by now) will be largely irrelevant ... in my opinion it defeats the purpose.
