ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

If we have world class fields at Tuggerah - why not there?     ;)

do you think there would be any difference if we had our own stadium?

some other bullshit excuse will be used for moving our games if we did

Dear CCM Board

Until recently I have backed most of your decisions.

More recently however I am starting to wonder if you are as attuned to the CC as you would have the wider community believe.

The Mariners created a perception of the community club... with massive support for local park teams.. local park teams are starting to question when / how / why... The song .."what about me springs to mind"

The appointment of Graham Arnold,,, HHHMMmmm.. I hope you are right because beyond doubt the most unpopular coach in Australia in recent years and given the Northern Spirit links ... brining an extra  load of baggage... a brave decision but like all brave decisions will back fire in a big way if he fails as many expect...

However today announcement about moving games is IMO beyond stupid....

Bridges need re building... the grass roots re engaged...

Why because the CC Bears will start a team in either the 2012 or 2013 season... they have heaps of money the backing of NEWS which brings the TerrOR and the Express... further if the last time is anything to go by the CCLC will pour heaps into their development... They also have Singo and his radio network we left ... Lets not forget Wyong Leagues..Plus Ch 9 and the Fosile AM stations...

We appear to have a number of disgruntled sponsors, a number of of park clubs asking where are we .. remember we created the perception ... WE have not supported one of the CC most influential power brokers [radio contracts] ...  question are starting to arise about the capital funding of the MCOE... and about our own day to day cash position with FFA putting in a few coins is the suggestion...

We have at best three seasons but maybe two seasons to find our past... to rebuilt our crowds .. but I am concerned because at the half way point when we where third .. the crowds failed to reach 7 to 8 k... even our new year game was well below expectations...

In either 2012 or 2013 we will be in a head to head battle with the CC Bears and we need a solid base of rusted on hard core ... IMO you are starting to loose the confidence of the local football community ... it is in no way in disrepair or in a position it cannot be won back ... but moving our  home games is beyond stupid ...

Remember too the Rovers are starting soon ... they are making all the right sounds .. and come from Footballs heartland ... our supporters in WS are going to be hugely tempted if we keep making mistakes...

Relocate to Canberra on the cards perhaps?

Once I would have laughed ... but  FFA need an A-League team in the ACT for the ACT government to build the 40 K stadium for the WC... Also  MCOE ... aside from the building of the fields which I understand is largely funded by Wyong council is not setting the world on fire...

MCOE is completely seperate from the club - could continue as a commercial development/club and yoof facility without CCM

They probably couldn't give a rat's what any of us on here think but really it's not us they have to worry about......we'll all end up going despite our whinging.

It's the people like Roy Law was on about......fans,sponsors etc who don't read this forum.

I regularly talk to local football people when at my kids swimming clubs etc and I honestly can't remember the last time I heard anyone say anything positive about CCM.

That is a big change from 2 or 3 years ago.

I have emailed both the Advocate and ABC Central Coast; now for an angry letter to the Club!
"Here we go again. The dust has barely settled on a disastrous A League season and the Mariners are already talking about more home games away from home. They dont seem to want to listen or learn. Last year great swathes of the season were spent without the Mariners featuring at Bluetongue; disingenuous obfuscation meant that the fans were never given a transparent reason for playing in Canberra and no apology was ever offered. The good people of the Central Coast arent mugs: as the team deserted the Coast so the Coast gave up on the team, and you cant really blame them. The management of the Mariners needs to lift its game and regain touch with the community."

take it to North Sydney Oval - at least I can walk home from there

/selfishness

the Canberra games were good as a two-off road-trip bit-o-fun, but hells bells they cant expect people to pony up the cash for petrol/accomodation/festivities in a foreign land, as well as a season ticket unless they acknowledge the inconvenience and lower the season ticket price or whatever. Obviously taking the Canberranians money is a good incentive for them to play "home" games there and they don't think they'll take too much of a hit from the non-travelling Coast fans.
