If it is'nt bad enough we got ripped off with sh1t officiating again and now we have one of Australia's top keepers and certainly the best keeper we will have in the forseeable future facing a potentially long ban. If Dany get a long ban after Griffiths nutflicking it will be rediculous considering the circumstances. Last minutes of game with a blatant handball that would have changed the result of the game with the Ref making the wrong decision I hope will help the ruling. He did'nt really 'assult' him giving him a high five and other 'assults' have taken place over the season with little being done.

Still it was stupid and we can only hope for consistance this year with a stern warning from the FFA that next year inflringements of this nature will be delt with more harshly.

The thing that may stop this is GOOD officiating with referee's that are not blind and inconsistant but that would be way to much to ask I guess.

What he did was wrong and freaking stupid but so was Joel Griffiths' punch, and well, we wouldn't have been playing Newcastle last night if that was dealt with appropriately.

I remember a game in the premier league this season where Steven Gerrard (I think) held the referees hand down as he went to red card a player (this may have been mentioned earlier)

What Danny did was wrong, but nowhere near as bad as the sack-whacker.

It was also only marginally worse than Sasho's and Mile's contact with the ref just before it - which were ignored. Such a tiny difference and they go un-noticed while there's talk of serious bans for Danny?

Then the sack-whack just throws everything way out of proportion.

but it was a yellow card, therefore no charges can be laid/ suspensions.

It's silly though, how can the FFA seriously think that FIFA would be cool with that, the rule is there to protect the referee! I don't know how leaving that untouched protects the referee.

Just had a look on You Tube at the Griffiths sack whack.

Seriously if he can get away with that then Danny should be fine.  But as many have said the FFA have put themselves into a corner with their inaction.  I reckon Danny will be ok as he's too valuable to the bigger picture.  FFA will save face somehow.  I'd expect him to either be banned for a few games or a suspended sentence.  Won't be a life ban.

It's interesting to note that if Griffiths had gotten what he deserved then Newcastle would have been truly f****d.  He scored 14 goals.  The rest of the team combined only scored that many ffs.  What is it about Newcastle and 1 man teams?  Tin foil hat time - what money that the FFA knew at the time how f****d the Jets are and the only hope of the team surviving was to have Griffiths play.

If Danny does get in heaps for this, and Griffiths got off scot free, then does that mean that it is okay to hit/abuse linesman but not the ref? Because that is how I see it...

The bullshit excuse for Griffiths getting off was that it was dealt with on the field as he got a yellow, whereas Danny got a straight red which means its got to go to the judiciary. I'm hoping they look at the sack whacking incident and follow along those lines, and not make a stand over Danny.

Im am very sure than danny will NOT get a life long ban, the FFA needs him for the olyroos and in a couple of years, the socceroos.
