ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This really is hard to take, more painful than walking out of the SFS yesterday, more painful than a shameful trip home beneath taunts from the Scum. More painful that losing two Grand Finals in three years and eating, sleeping and breathing this team since it inception.

It's hard to take and it's gutting to keep being made scape-goats, for f**ks sake, is there ANYONE who actually tries to f**king promote this game to the general public!?
I don't think I can take anymore of this bullshit.

FFA, take a long hard f**king look at yourself, you're a disgrace!

Sasho aswell!!!!!!!!!! f**k sake!!!!!!!!! Bloody Mark Shield!!!!!!!

Yeah yeah...once again the ref is blamed for pulling his strings...Get real guys...he succumbed to another brain attack and lost control.  I feel sorry for him..it's a tough lesson but it's one he should have learned at a much lower level of the game.  He's a professional now and needs to act as one.  Follow the example of some wise heads in the game.  If we sanction this, why not throw away the rule book.  I don't want my kids playing the game in a climate where players can assault officials, even if they are 'passionate' about the reasons why...

so is it effective as of the start of the a-league or the pre-season?

good if we can soak a month or two of it up in pre-season..

24 November would be the return date.

Farken ouch, interesting to see wheather they'll extend the ban to include Olyroo games or keep it with just A-League games.

Yet you condone Mr. Griffith's actions?

I don't condone what Danny did, but given the FFA's inaction re. Griffiths this is rediculous.

Chris, who's on the independant comittee if you know?
What happens to Shield for his performance in the game? Did Newcastle get any sanction for Joel Griffiths' incident?

how many times do they kick the Mariners and their supporters?..............
Enough is Enough....
maybe we need to march through the streets or something?..... people power!

Petrovski hit shields hand also...before Danny did...
But what gives the referee the right to put his hands on players?
I saw the ref pushing petrovski in the back ....
pushing him down the field... maybe he should have done a griffith and dived and said he recieved physcal abuse

Hi all. Yes i am a Jets fan and i am not here to cause trouble.

Danny getting suspended is harsh and fair depends which way its looked at. He struck a referee therefore he deserves to be suspended.

BUT

Put the Joel sack whack next to it and i'm sure you all know whats coming here. Its a joke. I love Joel as much as the next Jets supporter but i also am not biased, though i was very relieved he got away with the sack whack.

Look at both incidents. Joels first. He is on the ground, something didn't go his way and he was complaining (as 99% of players do). He strikes his hand out into the crown jewells of an official, although does not seem to strike him hard, there is still intent and contact. Yellow card, nothing more to it. Danny. After a horrendous refereeing decision Danny lets his "hot head" get to him and, well i really don't know what he tried to do but everyone calls it a "high five" so that will be it. He "high fives" the ref, knows he is off, runs off the field. Next day is suspended for 15 months.

Both struck an official, both deserves punishment. Danny hit Shield in the arm and Joel hit the other bloke in the crackers. Surely Joels is a far more serious offence??

In short, my opinion is you guys should feel hard done by. To be honest there was not alot in it.

Maybe Danny would not of lost control of himself if these types of mistakes were not made in 90% of every game. Refereeing is poor and of course the players are going to over react at some time because they will, as us supporters, will get sick of the atrocious calls from officials. Maybe if it was only a one off mistake danny would of kept his cool regardless of the importance of the game.

Nobody likes us but we don't care. Mariners 'Till i die.

The Mariners and the League are here to stay but as for the reffering well thats another story.
It's not just this but i mean you've got

*Danny getting 15 months where he should of got no more than 3 months max.
*Handball not given in dying minutes of a GRAND FINAL.
*The 2 shocking incorrect Penalty calls in the Prelim Final
*The Sydney game with all the bad decisions in that match
*Joels Sackwhack that got NOTHING i repeat NOTHING

And these are just the major incidents not including all the other 7 teams problems at any stage of the season. Numourous penalties and soft cards a plenty.

A-League expansion and World cups are all nice and rosey but we can't even get our refs right ffs.
Make them professional otherwise our whole game will suffer.

My heart goes out to Danny, he must be totally crushed.

If the minimum was a year ban to life, then it should have been the absolute minimum that the FFA was required to give! Even a 12 month ban with 6 months suspended would have been over the top....
