ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

if people genuinely wanted a bay 16 membership they wouldn't care too much about cost (the payment plan option should be able to help a number of people to juggle finances)

that's ok for either of us, but if we were asked to pay $300 (that's what the effective price hike is) then i imagine the sounds from the non-students would be different.

Fair point, from some perhaps........... but not everyone

Last year from memory students paid $77 for 11 games (10 HAL and 1 pre-season cup) which was $7 per game, IMO that was FAR too cheap, but opinions vary!

Last year we had roughly 3k members, currently we are up to around 2.5k, so we're on track to better V3 which is a great sign.

Allocated bays are only going to grow IMO, I would not be surprised to see bays 15 and 17 become reserved within the next 2 seasons.

i don't have any issue with the allocated seating thing - i made a thread about sydney's setup a while back and said i wished we had a similar setup (particularly with seat selection).

my one and only issue is the concessions thing. i've emailed the club with my thoughts, and i think the fix is pretty easy - emulate sydney's setup whereby everyone pays a little extra (but not as much as gold membership or something like that) to get their reserved seat. that way you've got the demonstrated commitment to put in a little extra, but the system as a whole is a lot fairer.

as for too cheap...

there's a problem with setting prices for anything - too low and you lose money, too high and too few people buy. no matter what price hike you make, there will be some who decide that's too much and won't buy.

we're still in the establishment phase so any price hike is dangerous, but i don't have that big an issue with these hikes. they're basically pretty reasonable and we're in the same ballpark as other clubs.

For adults the price is still in line with GA. But for students, gold is actually sinificantly cheaper, as is GA. I would think there will be a number of students in GA.
Dont forget student prices are up almost 140% on last year for the bay.

We'll see what happens next year with student rates, perhaps they will introduce them into bay 16 then if there's been enough public feedback to alter them?  I just hope that those same people then don't complain that they can't get a seat in the back 10 or whatever rows lol

Yeah that's a fair whack, but there was no reserved seating bay membership last year, there is a difference.  For the extra coin I guess what you're paying for is the luxury to know that this seat is yours for EVERY GAME and and no matter if you get there 2 hrs before ko or 2 mins before ko it's YOURS!  It's also yours to keep for as many years as you wish as long as you renew your membership to the club.

GA is as we all know, you're paying for a ticket that allows you to sit anywhere in any particular area which is marked GA, you're running the risk of not getting your favorite position? Perhaps you need to get there early or not be fussy with where you sit, but it's ultimately your choice as a member.

The club have made bay 16 allocated for the first ever time and hard decisions obviously had to be made, once those were made they had to stick to them regardless of customer feedback, so everyone is stuck with what is available this year.  However, with the feedback they receive, perhaps this will change package options for next season? I don't know?

At the end of the day these are the package options presented to the public, in no way are the club forcing people to select a particular position, we as members choose the area we want and then request a particular seat (unless it's GA)

Anyway, we all knew all that so what a waste of a post ;) LOL

I think they were more expensive in V2, they then dropped prices due to a) less games in V3, and b) can only assume a massive membership drive

The difference is in the definition of a child - less than 13 as at 1/3/2009. In version two my 16, 14 and 10 year olds were all children. Two years later I would expect the oldest to be a student. However under the new definition all three are students.

They at least are paying for their own upgrades - some I'm better off than V2. :vhappy:
