ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Wonder how many Fury/Gold Coast fans (I'm sure they had some) were saying everything will be fine etc. before they went under.

"Charlesworth Out" signs or abusing the man would be just plain stupid, but we should be able to let our feelings on matters known.

The blind obedience to Charlesworth is dangerous and stupid. While abuse is out of order. Protest is allowed by paying customers.

What is clear is that in the club, the left hand is completely unaware of what the right hand was doing. That won't be isolated to media/PR, it will affect everything that they do. Explains a lot.

Still when you have to advertise an operator for an hotel that you proudly told everyone had a 25 year lease signed shows the calibre of all involved.

Farcical

If that's it, it's pretty tame, and in context mainly out of frustration rather than actual abuse.
A pretty bad suggestion for a tifo, and even if it did get made it wouldn't make it past the front gate.

We won't let things descend into the sorts of things we've seen in the past though. There's enough of that going around on Twitter and Facebook.

REPRAZENT!

Cambridge Street Elite, sipping lattes and talking literature.

Also, who's suggestion is it that the 20% of non-Coast members live in North(ern) Sydney / North Shore? Or how many of that 1000-odd don't have strong ties to the Coast and would equally be aghast at the potential loss of the regional identity of the club.

The Mariners have given the Central Coast a unifying identity like nothing we've ever had before.

100&.

Any tifo will be emphasising the importance of the Central Coast part of "Central Coast Mariners Football Club". The Yellow Army aren't as dumb as some supporters groups or ultras. Look at Milan, ultras making signs threatening to beat their players because they don't have Maldini and Baresi playing for them anymore...

honestly I'm sure this will all be fine (but admit to a certain level of anxiety over it).

a) I'm happy to engage the north syd market for both fans and new players, as we seem to be attempting in western NSW,
b) only as long as we have no change in identity, the mariners are central coast and this is non-negotiable for me and most of the clubs supporters I'm sure,
c) I don't by a long way expect the encroaching into north syd to provide the sort of revenue MC might be hoping for to justify b), we already likely have the bulk of likely supporters from the area buying memberships as it is,
d) MC deserves our support but will hopefully approach future marketing tactics with better diplomacy,
e) MC loses all said support if he attempts b) and loses his current 80% + guaranteed market, which is crazy talk and again suggests it won't happen.

ultimately I think all will be well in ccmland but it's not pleasant feeling like you could be betrayed and that you can't be sure about it

But don't forget, last year if Mike Charlesworth hadn't stepped up to bail us out - "finito" back then. So, care is required with the anti-Charlesworth sentiments, here and anything displayed at the game.

This.

How would you feel if you were putting a million a year into the club and started to see "Charlesworth out" banners displayed by the fans or read some of the crap written here.

Wake up!!!!

I'd be happy/pissed.

Pissed off because it's my money no one else is putting in.

Happy because they care about the club - They are only pissed cause I want to move it - There is only one reason for an anti Charlesworth Banner & that is because he is showing interest in moving the club.

He hasn't done anything else wrong at this point that I can think of. The problem is as an owner if you make 1 mistake with the fans you don't want it to be because you made them feel like you are taking the club away from them.

In the cool light of day, I suppose it's fair to say that "Yes, CM does deserve a chance"... Tbh, from my POV he hasn't done anything to deserve our suspicion yet, for mine, I suppose most of my distrust stems from having seen what happened to GCU etc... So far, I actually think MC and his team have done quite an extraordinary job in trying to promote the club etc.

But yes, definitely, rumours like this and the one about South Melbourne, shoot straight for the heart, no messing about with minor scratches etc... It's right for the heartblood, that's bound to get a response and, fromt hat POV, I would've thought that a fan such as MC would be able to understand and identify with it.
Just need to perhaps release another comment, like the one yesterday, to state that they're not looking to actually move the games from the Coast...

. First Free to Air Game on Friday night - Time for a protest me thinks - Yellow Army in? f**k off Charlesworth f**k off North Sydney TIFO? I'll help you hold it.

Big Al, page 12, this thread.

Yep I said it - Was frustrated for sure - But agree bad language should not be part of a protest (easier to see after a couple of days to cool down & some good advice recommendations from others) but I don't believe Charlesworth should be imune from the protest as it's his idea & threat of you'll lose the club anyway. Which is pretty inflamatory.

How about Hey Charlesworth if we don't play on the CC we don't pay & then we both go away.
