Ask Liam reddy lol*pssst* Where's the pre-game pub?
ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Does not really matter.sydmariner said:What happens if they don't show it
We don't need cheese platters we've already got that douchebag guy throwing enough cheese already also re hearing the cannonn go boom more tell that 2 Daniel mcbreenI've simmered down slightly after reading the article and statement from the Marinersdenyingconfirming that they're looking at more games at NSO due to the cost of running a club purely on the Coast being too high.
While there are a lot of questions here mainly due to lack of information about what the costs are, how moving a few games to NSO will be the solution, and what the other plans are (if any), I doubt we will get any answers any time soon.
This season the Mariners have stepped things up a lot; have been communicating a lot more with Facebook and Twitter, put in some great game-day initiatives including the Loose Cannon, the actual cannon (we need to hear more BOOOOOMs from that!) and other activities around the game, so MC etc are probably scratching their heads wondering what else they need to do to bring crowds in.
I think as supporters of the club we can step up and take a bit more responsibility for helping out. I still think the club needs to communicate a bit better about issues such as this. Threats in the press saying we'll move the club if you don't start turning up are only going to piss those off who go to every game and invest a lot of their own time and money into the club, whereas those who don't go to games anyway will just say "meh... I don't go to games anyway", but it's not up to us as fans to go to them every week with a list of demands; I'd rather be asking "what can we do to help?".
This is the 9th season of running ccmfans (formerly marinators.net, RIP) and this year we have been pushing to expand activities and build on our supporter base. This isn't "just a website" but a strong community of people who love the Mariners and want to talk about every little detail of the club, with many more coming back every day to read over all the discussions. In the off season we had our logo professionally re-made, giving us a strong identity, we've worked with the CCLC to bring back the Kendall pre-game, are official sponsors of the Mariners, and always working on more. We've got some merchandise on the way which will be on sale very shortly, with proceeds going either to the Mariners via more sponsorship packages, or back into more merchandise for fans, and recently we've been working with the Official Supporters Club and Yellow Army on a special event for pre-game before the clash vs Sydney on December 7 (stay tuned for more info on that!).
On top of that, and trying not to sound too formal, we'll be looking at getting volunteers together to expand on the amount of content produced and distributed by ccmfans, help the club directly (as we know, the Mariners are only a small club and basically run on fumes, not many staff), and work on a couple of other initiatives for this season and next, which will be a big one, 10th A-League season!
As always, if anyone feels they have an idea of how we as fans can help the club out (and I mean realistic things that we can implement, not ideas like cheaper tickets, free beer, or better cheese platters for the bay), make a new topic then we can start hashing out details and get the ball rolling. There are a some people on here with great ideas, so let's have 'em!
And back to the actual topic here; it would be nice to know what the targets are, how much they are being missed by, and what we need to achieve to make sure the club stays purely on the Coast, but that may be asking a bit much.
I think we can still put the questions forward but at the same time we can build support amongst ourselves and help out as much as we can.
Thoughts?
Adz, I did not look too hard for abuse, but I think there were some liking MC to Palmer. You don't get more abusive than that.
*That's* what you came up with? FFS.

Had to LOL. If we have to go looking for abuse rather than having it jump off the screen and smack us in the face, I reckon that's a good sign the forum has come a long way since a few years ago
Well said Adz
I know enough Mariners fans who's overall business smarts and marketing skills place them waaaay out of the clubs reach salarywise.
How many of those fans would be prepared to donate their time pro-bono (or cash) on specific projects that the club wants to do but cant afford?
Some that instantly spring to mind are:
Staffing promotional booths at CCF grand finals?
Chipping in for a big f**k off banner or hoarding at the Gosford, Ourimbah and Tuggerah offramps of the M1 to promote games?
Looking at some sort of database mining from the ticketek data (if they dont already)
IMHO its the really basic, on the ground, nitty gritty promotion and selling of the games where they fall down.
notwithstanding that they are trying their best, id be more inclined to support a fans group financially if they were funding initiatives like that one

DittoI'm just pissed, again, at the uncertainty as to whether I'll have my club into the future.
I'm happy enough to push/tap into the north Sydney market as long as that's all it is.
The thought of becoming a north Sydney team in time makes me sick to the stomach though and despite the reassuring murmurings being made I remain unclear as to the the clubs longer term future/plans.
I love this club and if they ever did become a north Sydney club I would feel betrayed enough to walk away.
Is the club losing money though? Have any reliable figures been published?
With crowd averages nudging 10k for the last two years and this season likely to be above. Supposedly 10k is the break even figure. Why are they losing money?
Perhaps maximizing their current revenue streams would be a good place to start. For example look at the CCM club shop and compare it to the Scum's online shop.
They have a greater range and more available. We don't even have this years home shirt up. How many merchandise dollars have been missed and is it the same for other sources of income?
