I dont know if anyone has mentioned this but fabio needs two weeks. For that dive perez got 2 weeks and it wasnt as clear cut as this one was thoughts?

I also think the short passing game needs some work. Seems that they hold on to the ball too long sometimes. not enough movement off the ball IMO and perhaps a lack of anticipation. the Roar have set the benchmark in this respect and it is something we should be aiming for.

Still pretty pleased with the result in some respects as with the exception of Pedj everyone seems to be coming into form. Pat and Wilko are beasts at the back. Love their work.

Yep it would be nice to see them up the tempo a bit, but seems they start giving the ball away too often if they do.

Problem is they bunch up too much when they try to move the ball quickly. i was always taught one touch football with the players off the ball doing the work so to speak. They have shown that they can do it. Hate to be on the training paddock with Arnie this week.

Probably not related but I noticed a few times Rose had tons of space and could have ran up the wing like we saw him do last season so well but instead he just walked a few paces and tried to pass it into the middle into a crowd of players.

I don't know if there has been a change in tactics that says we can't get the ball up the other end too quickly or what but they all looked like they would rather pass it around to each other at the back than get it moving towards goal.

If your talking about when Pedj got a yellow, it wasn't a dive. I watched the replay today and he got caught right on top of the foot. If you've played before you'll know that its f**king painful.

its a bit rich that it took him 3-4 steps and loosing the ball before he headed for the ground. Rolling round like he was shot by a snipper.

It might be painful but i wouldn't have rolled round on the floor like i'd been shot even when i was in under 7's.

Therefore simulation.....therefore a two match ban by the retards at FFA HQ.

From what i saw, Fabio doesn't have a case to answer, Pedj definitely clipped him. As for Fabio's acting afterwards, well, if you ban him for that then half the league's in trouble.

In a separate incident, Pedj is goooone for his punch on Fabio (IIRC). The timing is perfect because he should be dropped anyway for his performance last night.

Pedj - Great engine, speedy, terrific in attack, exciting to watch. Crossing abysmal. shooting ditto.

The irony is that many other defenders never make it into advanced positions as often as Pedj, so the defenders lack of skills in this area are not so exposed.

Hearfield has impressed, very sharp, and seems to have the goods in the final third, but I don't know his defensive credentials. Could be an interesting choice at RB as some are suggesting, but do you run the risk of upsetting a currently balanced defence?

Difficult choice for Arnie.

He used to play FB for wellington so knows what the position is about. He didn't hugely impress me for Wellington but looks to be very confident atm and has been good for us in every cameo so far. Pedj, Porter and Sainsbury dont look to be any better defensively than Hearfield and he looks sharp up the other end and more composed so for me he gets the number 2 jumper for a couple of weeks.
As to Pedj's dig in the kidneys....good little shot and his most accurate work all night!!!

Hearfield may get a start next week in midfield with ollie being unavailable, will be interesting to see who plays on the left.

Me thinks Sainsbury should be given a reasonable go... his passing game is better... his defence about the same ... his running down the wings not as good...
