Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I know it's a bit early but does anyone know if roar will be without broich, franjic and McKay for the Jan 12 game ?

Broich and franjic were out of today's game injured ...wasn't sure how long they were ruled out for

Talking of injuries it seems Adelaide will be shorthanded for their next game against Victory next Sunday. Keenan out with a broken leg, Flores and Cassio could be out with hamstrings. Our destiny for second place is in our hands but injuries to key players in other teams may have a bearing on second spot.

Any news on whether broich and franjic are still out ? Did they play against Perth ?

Brisbane looked a lot slower without McKay in the midfield on the weekend. Should be a very interesting game on Wednesday and I hope we turn up with the same team as Sunday sans McBreen and plus one Kwas.

A win here would really shake things up while a loss or draw would not be unexpected. Nothing to lose and plenty to gain

Obviously the lack of McKay with give us a far better chance as it was the dual running of him and Nicholls that killed us in the 5 - 1 game as our shape meant that Griff had to make a choice which runner to pick up and the other was either free or the wide midfielders had to pick up the other and they could attack us down the flanks. Watching them the other night Nicholls was still making the runs but the second runner wasn't there which made picking them up a lot easier. Also another thing that also stood out with McKay was his ability to get forward and back for 90 minutes which again seemed to be missing so it should give Perez more space to work in and create more.

I would also like to see Baird start for 2 reasons as with his pace he can close them down and stop them playing out from the back but also it will give their defenders something to think about before commiting forward, especially the full backs as they will need to cover him which is our other combinations up front is not really a consideration.

Kwasnik's resurgence was kick-started when he came on in the second half of the 1-5 defeat to the Roar. He has to start alongside Simon. This is our best opportunity to beat the Roar as they seem to have gone off the boil a little lately and will be without the influential McKay. However if we start against them as we did against Welly we'll be two down before we have drawn breath. We are quite capable of beating them, we just have to believe and make sure we are mentally right for it.

This might be the best time the verse the Roar.

1. They have a few players out.
2. The pressure is building to keep their unbeaten streak going.
3. The players might have their minds elsewhere with all the floods and evacations in their local areas.

that's not really a nice thought. however true or not that might be i'd hate to think we'd be banking on it helping us.

i think it'd be good if the club organised donation buckets at the gates and a minute's silence before KO. terrible stuff in qld.

also, if they haven't flown out yet, they might not make it to sydney - the airport's closed.

It was not meant in a bad way. I have hold much respect for the people of Brisbane and their families and hope that the are all safe.

They are great ideas to help support them and I would certainly make a donation (and encourage my mates to do the same) and participate in the minute silence.

i didn't mean to imply you meant ill or anything, just stating pretty matter of factly that it's not a nice thing - i'd hate for it to be something that affected them and had us beat them.

in other news - airport's reopened. a storm casued ground operations to cease (lightning is pretty dangerous for ground crews). the storm's passed.

Will the game go ahead? can Brisbane get here? Would it be disrespectful to play? What if players families are affected by this disaster?
