ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I AM one of the local supporters who will not be going on Friday because I don't feel that it is in the interest of the club or the team. For that, you're calling me and those of my ilk, 'selfish, precious and weak supporters' how is that not disrespectful?

My apologies to you if that is how you are seeing it.

I also could have worded it better. I was not attacking the people not attending Friday night, I was aiming at those who were threatening to withdraw membership and support for the team if a few games were moved.

I will try to use less disrespectful terms in future. I would hate to be ejected by Bronwyn Dibo. :redcard:

We could safely omit *one* of the Jacob POSCOLIERO's. ;)

I've been to every single home game, and as many away and pre-season games as possible. I won't be missing this match or Brookvale either. Above all, I'm a fan of the team, and the game.

Seems a lot of people have thrown the baby out with the bathwater in extrapolating a result that ends up with the dissolving of the club, but it's been stated many times that NSO isn't suitable for full time A League games, and also that the club has no intention of moving. So you either take them at their word, or you don't.

It's everyone's right to choose to disbelieve whoever they want, to speculate on Charlesworths shady motives, or summon up the spectre of dodgy politicians on the Central Coast, but please don't be putting down your mates just because you don't agree with how they choose to support their team.

Also - the Northbridge Twitter is manned by suburban-football volunteers, and don't deserve the abuse they've been getting. And all the free ticket and flier distribution is being handled by volunteers from Northbridge - kids and adults alike.

Thought this was funny then realized we are 7 games no wins :(
Agreed :( Bur surely we can smile :) at WSW's predicament being worse than ours, if that's at all possible, as they *are* "Champions of Asia".

On another note, I'm very glad that Matty Simon hasn't been included in the squad. If that surface is as unsuitable as MV are making out then it would be stupid to risk him at this stage of the season. Still, Mossy *could* do a Josh Bingham, couldn't he?

Good post...agree with most. All i want is to be able to go and watch my team, have a few beers and a good time. Can't stand all the politics but will make some noise if there is talk of 5 or more NSO games next season. It's important though that we remain nice to each other and continue to get to games. Nothing good ever comes of worrying about what may never happen.....but i am wholeheartedly in favour of positive lobbying of people to support playing the vast majority if not all of our games in Gosford. I don't mind 1 game at NSO a season.
Lets be good to each other, including whoever turns up at NSO, get to the game to support our team who at the moment really need that.

id like to think i can convert a few people from Northern Sydney into becoming Mariners fans during the game and let them know for all but 1 or 2 games a season Gosford is a great place to watch football and really not a bad commute. :)

I hope so, our recent form though improving is not good enough to really cause Melbourne great fear. Hopefully we can cause an upset. If we do I am sure Kevin Muscat will then become very vocal in his opposition to any future games being held there. :soapbox:

Anyway I do not know what all the fuss is about the surface. It is now quite good compared to what it was like in the 60s and 70s when it truly was Concrete Park.

Even then, I played rugby on it and it did not affect me..............

much.

I would have thought that there would be provision in the rules concerning the suitability of the playing surface at any venue. But no, all I can find are rules relating to commercial considerations. Nothing I can find relating to player safety where the playing surface is concerned.

I just posted this on the Stand Up for the Mariners page on FB.

You know what would be a great idea and a really good publicity generator? I realise this can't be organised for tomorrow's game but for the Brookvale oval game in a few months we could get Lawrie Mckinna to open the OUR stadium up and all us Coasties could watch the game on the big screen instead of going to the game. How cool would that be? Would be a great way to show our support for the team to stay in the coast.

Lawrie responded straigh away and said he will look into it :overheadl:

What do you recon?

Apparently a protest is being organised outside BT tomorrow at 6pm.
Talk is NBN news and central coast advocate will be there to film and report on it.
Really??? Who is organising it. Haven't heard anything on social media. Hope they get a good turn out because ten people shouting will look bad.
