Bojic - Quiet tonight but a class act

Ossie - Worked hard, still getting back to fitness

Hutcho - V poor

Jedi - without him, we would be f**ked, another awesome game

Car chair arse - awful, anonymous, lightweight. Not 5% of the player Tommy was for us. Waste of money

Saso - Should never have been subbed, we keep hoofing the ball to his head not his feet - why??

Matty - MOM by miles. Awesome performance

Theo was sent for "stomping" on thompson but he went down faster then aloisi did on this year's GF day.

Sasho fell over in that incident but it could have gone either way.

Matt's goal celebration when he took out the net pole was funny but he could have lost his head.

. from where i was sitting (halfway) both the melbourne attackers were a couple of metres offside when the ball first came through (could have been yellow vision though with no replay)

I thought the TARDS played the long ball all night. Thats how they play away from home. They did move the ball early but after a while they just play long ball. What they do though is push through the mid field so when a striker gets the long ball they have a body in motion to pass of to.

We moved the ball much better then we have in other weeks and I feel we were unlucky in the end (I am waiting for replays of their first goal)

The second Goal was an absolute stuff up by Wilko. Firstly Bosnich called for the ball and Wilko played it meaning Bozza couldn't pick it up, then he lags behind and keeps TARDS onside.....

Overall I think if someone said we would get 2-2 against Tards we would have taken it. Fact is we should have got all 3 points and thats what hurts we should have had 3 or 4.....

petrovski getting decked on about 70ish minutes, definitely a freekick, not a penalty, but would be right on the line. ref was useless, but then again, why should we expect more?

Yep I'm in a similar spot and Alsop was offside but the liney was consistent (bad...) We were offside in the second half and the same liney let it go.. Only thing he got right was Matty's goal

Bojic was a bit quiet- but was on top of his game
Osman- lacks pace for a winger but his contribution was good
Hutcho- I though played alrite...his passing was on and off (one pass in 2nd half in particular) but he made some great slide tackles + defended well IMO
Simon- WOW!!! He is brilliant A machine

Linesman Marinators end was rubbish (I was 35m where most offsides where missed) but at least he got the SImon goal right
I swear the 2nd goal looked offside but i dunno- will have to wait for replays

Overall match left me with a sour taste in my mouth

I am absolutely shattered at squandering two points tonight. Almost as shattered as the 5-4. When we will ever win against ten men?

Porter and Matty were the standouts. Both of them brilliant. I thought we knocked the ball around quite well at times. We are absolutely shit at protecting leads. Why can't we shut up shop and kill the game with a few minutes to go?

Agree with Jaypee. Wilko is at fault for the goal. Why he didn't let Bozza have it, I'll never know. We've now dropeed six points and should be top of the table. Two against scum, two and the sheep and now the tards.

One thing's for sure, it's never dull being a Mariner diehard.

I know it's early days, but in this league it's difficult making up ground and there's already a gap appearing, the top two and the rest. Although I have to say, I don't think the choppers will finish top two.

And unrelated I know, but it's very disappointing there's no player functions this year. What's the go with that? Always been extremely will received by the members and I think it's terrible they've been canned.

Just seen it on the foxsports website - the ball goes to Brebner who is onside - Archie was offside but as the ball didn't go to him its academic

Hutch missed an absolute sitter - why he didn't hit it first time I'll never know

I also thought Caceres (SP) was ok - he seemed to be on a different wavelength to the team mates and I think he will come good. The shot he had - the sitter - actually came of Sasho - otherwise it was in....

I essentially agree with your assessment but just want to make a few comments.

1. Bozza was more than solid... I thought it was a great performance. For me it was highlighted by his two saves, his work coming outside the box and his clearences. That is a BIG difference from Danny - Bozza's clearences actually find players in space upfield.

2. Totally agree about Hutcho... what's the solution???

3. I think MOM was a toss up between Jedi and Matty. I just loved Jedi's midfield domination. His presence and poise was so impressive. For me he just shaded Matty for MOM honours, but it's a close call... a toss of the coin.

Secondly - I thought Archie was offside in the second (waiting to see a replay) but that's the sort of officiating we've come to expect / had our hearts broken by before.

I agree that Matty and Jedi were our best (so f**k all is ruled out - no?) but you didn't see any positive play in the whole game from (again) Wilko, Hutch or Caceres? You just don't like them, OK.

If Melbourne (as well they may be) are the league benchmark at present, I felt for the most part pretty happy about how we looked against them and though it was a good team performance. Your negative posts continue to shit me more than my disappointment about having a deserved win whipped away at the last minute.
