Porter got owned all 2nd half at right back, but still provided both assists to Matty for both goals

Total bullshit Bear! End of!
Who owned Porter he was pretty quiet in 2nd half on his side as Melbourne had no one on the left. Porter was more trying to help out the centre of defense!

first goal was bojic's fault (let hernandez breeze past his wing) and the second was wilkinson's

Watch it again, he was constantly ball watching and out of position, having to track back whenever melb saw the open man. Those passes would never have been on if Porter was marking. He is not a right back, and never will be. End of.

I would not say the 2nd goal was Wilko's fault at all. He went for the ball, got beaten (dont know which melb player it was) and layed on the grass holding his leg injured, true, but the player that won it passed to Archie, and he finished well between the other 2 mariners players. Id kick Wilko's ass for faking injury, but would not blame him. Id blame Lawrie for not having EVERY mariners player behind the ball in the 94th minute. If you watch the replay, we still have our 2 strikers standing around up front. In the 94 th minute. Against the team on top of the table. When we are 2-1 up. Whats up with that?

oz played a good game give him credit.i notice some of you have your favourites
but you need to give people credit when they have a good game.at the begining i thought that porter was in a dream.but the last couple of games his been great.you seem to be on a hate osman thing.

Last season Osman was superb (surprisingly good!) at Right Back until he got injured. This season he has looked way off the pace and soft on the ball and in the tackle.
Porter is improving all the time but he doesn't have the quality to start as a central middie and is a liability in the backs (most non specialist defenders are).
For mine neither are starting 11 players (but both are excellent squad members) and when they play well for the full 90 i'll be the first to give credit when its due.

i am sure they cannot wait for that day

it would be one of the greatest days in their lives IMO
hahahahahaha :goodpost:

Won't happen... osman is shit and a three year old girl could push him off the ball. But I suppose he has only had 5 rounds plus an entire preseason to get fit after his injury, which is the coomon defense for his poor performances of late. But hey my opinion and if mediocraty floats your boat then good luck.

Porter however has shown so much potential and hopefully gets a run down the right side tomorrow night and ossie to the bench

I think people were blaming Wilko for not leaving the ball when bozza was screaming at him

Watch that again also. Wilko had already touched the ball when Bozza started calling for it. If Bozza had picked it up, it would have been a backpass rule. Not Wilko's fault.

No it's not, Porter was out of position many times, I would prefer to see Osman at RB and Porter RM if those were the 2 who started on that side!

Osman is too defensive to be winger IMHO, he looked at home at RB!

. so he adds balance to the team  :p

. but agree, don't think he should play at the back. assume porter & ozzie played that way so we would have more speed at the back? not much point in being able to track back with archie if you are unable to tackle him though  ???

Only if the pass was to Bozza if it goes to goal keeper by chance Keeper can pick it up.

If he risked picking the ball up in the situation last Saturday night, he is a fool. From a keepers point of view, you NEVER pick the ball up after its touched your own players foot.

Bozza screamed it was his well before Wilko touched it. As a keeper I was watching Bozza and he definitely called Wilko off the ball before he played it (or even touched it)

That said Wilko's clearance was piss weak - my 11 year old could have done better .....

The idea of swapping Osman into defense and Porter to midfield sounds like a good one. Although, I must admit I haven't watched Osman in defense in the past. Is he seriously a reasonable defender? Is he up to Clark's or Bojic's standard.
