Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I had to put up with being called a cheat by crazy 5 year olds after the game until their mothers clamped their hands over their mouths. My wife thought it was hilarious, but it hurt my feelings.

How dose a grown man being called a cheat by a 5 year old kid compare to grown men teasing a 14 year old child, school yard style?
sarcasm imo

It doesn't. I apologise that sarcasm doesn't translate very well through the internet.

Save of the match goes to Petrovski :D

Frustrating match to watch (on TV, deep in the heart of enemy territory!) - I don't think I've ever seen strikers trip over the ball so frequently.

Still, the team did pretty damn well to keep fighting for the full match.  It was a pretty even game, and a 90 min arm wrestle - no team was able to establish dominance, nor really put the fear of god into the defence.

Matty Simon is starting to look like an A-league striker, shock horror :D

Disappointing to lose in the dying seconds like that.

Isn't it funny that despite the points being shared in a draw, Melbourne feel like they had a win and CCM feel they had a loss.

Funny probably isn't the right word to use.

LOL MV forum has a poll with Sash way out in front as the biggest C in the A-League.
I didn't think he could be any more of a C when he was playing for Sydney. I was wrong ;D I'm very much hoping Melbourne decide to appeal that red card and the FFA take a long hard look at themselves. It's getting very silly now.
You cannot stomp a player on or off the ball...end of. Do not give us the he was jumping up and down BS as you can see at 48secs him clearly stomping/kicking sasho then moving away before jumping up and down.

Whether sasho is a c**t or not it doesnt matter, sasho did a good job of getting in theo's ear and putting him off his game.

How do I cut and paste a youtube video on to a post or document like you've done here. Is it as simple as cut and paste because I need to do it for a presentation at work

I thought so but when I try and do it onto a Powerpoint presentation only the link appears, I want to save a video so I don't need to be connected to the net for my presentation

One great thing to see on Saturday was the quality of the goals. Matty did brilliantly well to chest down a difficult ball to control with his first and his header was text book stuff.

Archie took two well taken goals on his left foot which were bloody good efforts considering it's his week foot. The bastard's scored 5 goals in 5 games at BT. He must love coming up here.

*starts to realise what Sydney fans are on about*

I take incredible exception to this comment. Sydney fans are soulless little cretins that would sell their grandmother out to look better in the eyes of Uncle Fwank. They are not people that should be listened to for anything.

Guns you are missing Bears point the attached link says it better than I could but on the coast we don't preach about expanding the game by showing respect we actually practice it and TBH we would expect other clubs to respect basic values .......... the MHE may not agree but have a read of the link ............

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/with-undesirables-now-off-the-menu-marinators-are-left-to-stew/2008/09/19/1221331205886.html

Much more on link .........

Notable on each occasion was the absence of the two- or three-bay strong Marinators, reduced to barely half a bay on each occasion. But the group's president, Jeff Hall, says there's more to it than meets the eye.

"What you're seeing is that those people who would have normally stood in and around Bay 16 [the Marinators' core bay] have now been moved elsewhere because they can't get in," Hall explained yesterday.

"This season, the club has made the Bay 16 area exclusive to season-ticket holders, and that's the fundamental reason why it's smaller than in previous years.

"We had a lot of casual fans who could make it some weeks and not others, but now that you have to fork out a flat fee of $180 a season to be there, a lot of those fans have moved on."

It might sound like Hall is complaining, but he's not. In fact, it's the opposite. The Marinators have actively lobbied to have the area exclusive to season ticket holders.

"When we started, it was a fairly small crowd, but then word started to spread that it was the place to stand, chant and drink alcohol. However, that started to attract the wrong type of person," he said.

"People thought they were attending a game in Europe or England and thought it was fine to say whatever they wanted to whoever.

Now _that_ is journalism.......... well written, well presented, balanced, and actually makes a point.

A damn shame we don't get this from the Australia sporting media more often.

Good result for Melbourne but again lucky.  Good effort by Simon to pull down the net and give us extra time :) .  Think we have shown we can play well with 10 men and can get results.  This is a promising sign, even though it is undesirable :p

To be fair mate, I saw a lot of respect and disrespect flowing both ways. Nearly all of it was in good faith and banter, but some (again, from both sides) crossed the line by disrespecting those "basic values".

With the ball girl, I do think it's a dog act. That said, I didn't hear it and nobody I have asked since have said they heard it. Maybe the are playing dumb, or maybe the ballgirl misheard something yelled at Bozza after he f**ked up and yelled at her for his mistake. Either way, I'm sorry her feelings were hurt.

oz played a good game give him credit.i notice some of you have your favourites
but you need to give people credit when they have a good game.at the begining i thought that porter was in a dream.but the last couple of games his been great.you seem to be on a hate osman thing.

Last season Osman was superb (surprisingly good!) at Right Back until he got injured. This season he has looked way off the pace and soft on the ball and in the tackle.
Porter is improving all the time but he doesn't have the quality to start as a central middie and is a liability in the backs (most non specialist defenders are).
For mine neither are starting 11 players (but both are excellent squad members) and when they play well for the full 90 i'll be the first to give credit when its due.

Porter got owned all 2nd half at right back, but still provided both assists to Matty for both goals
