ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners to sign Reddy ???

they got that right .his support here would be about 4/1 .only the fact arnie wants him is what holds sway with me.

. i don't think i have heard, read or seen anything to suggest that arnie 'wants' him. wanting someone is a long way from deciding there are no better options available

I think your pulling a bit of semantics on the word want/"no better option" in football terms is a fine line
as has been stated he's not liked (and in a few cases is hated only marginly less than griffihs)
im with wombat and will wait and see . you may and quiet possibly be proved right .your side has dibo and adz
who are both astute judges of players.
feel free to throws stones at me . but not at the player walking a fine line

. semantics? maybe

. but to me your post read as though arnie had pursued him ... i thought it was worth the clarification

... your side has dibo and adz

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't say that, lol. I'd say it's more like "I don't know much about art football, but I know what I like."

I'm not a fan of the decision, but that's just my opinion.

There is a bit of fuss being made about it on here and social media but we are far from the majority of Mariners fans. As mentioned in the Player Movements thread, the majority probably don't even know, or care, about the history with Reddy.

As for not getting membership based on this, it's each to their own. Personally I still support the other 22 players, coaching and support staff, i.e. the club in general, and can't think of any circumstances where I would not renew my membership.

I hope that those who are taking a stand and not renewing will let the club know their reasons, otherwise it will be a complete waste.

I find the call by some not to re-new or sign a membership ... based on what a player did to some of our players HHHHMMMMmmmm childish is to strong but somewhat of an over reaction...

Our club has been based around hard slog and developing players... not everyone was a success Travis ??? he joined the same year as weeMac great player but a total waste maybe he caused the start of the no dickhead policy...

Reddy has had some off the field issues and issues with his coaches and other team members...

My reading of the tea leafs is our coaching staff believe we need a keeper .... Reddy is the best available for the money we have ... he has been placed on a one mistake and you are out ... with nowhere else to go he could do a Willy Mason at the Knights .... very similar characters with very similar backgrounds and Arnie talks to WB ... My understanding and its only from what I read sometime ago he has some personal issue and drink may be one ....

Again my reading of the tea leafs is he will be very closely watched and his Dad told to F off ....

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
I saw his dad kick Mick Adams face off at a League-a-thon at the SCG ...

I saw his dad in the 77 grand final replay. I didn't know he was an issue.

My understanding is his Dad often hangs around after matches and tries to tell coaches what they should be doing and how great his son is.. unconfirmed but was one of the reasons it took him so long to find a club and then the Flying Circus gave him a chance .... taws said his Dad was a huge pain in the arse...

I think we need the season to start so we can have something more interesting to discuss. Really i can't see the big deal, he will either come and play well and win the fans over....or be warming the bench. Don't think he will misbehave, this is his last chance and he knows it. I will cop a flogging for this but i would quite enjoy him coming in and playing out of his skin.:)

I wonder how many didn't renew their memberships after we signed Arnie?
I'm also not fussed about signing Reddy, although I haven't been a Mariner long enough to know about the early history. I'm particularly concerned about his lack of professionalism leading to his Smurf shafting. I would have thought it would be very hard to get shafted by them unless you're a coach. :) However I'm pretty sure our staff and our onfield leadership are more than strong enough to keep him in line, especially as I'm sure he knows very well one mis-step and he may as well burn his boots. Not even the PL would touch him again if he gets chucked out of here.
For this reason I won't cheer him until he well and truly earns it, but I won't boo him either until he deserves it for his behaviour here, regardless of his past. He will be a Mariner and I'll support him unless/until he proves unworthy of the name.
