How did he ever manage to snag a contract with Roma in the first place? His agent must be good! Also have it on good authority that Wales was training/fitness with MC NPL on the weekend...so he is definetly there.

We'd be the only club that can fit $500k into our cap space for just a young player with potential - which is all DDS is at this point. Presuming that we only contribute $150k still.
He should take this opportunity by the horns to get regular game time in the no-nonsense team Mulvey is building.
If he doesn't want it - don't let the door hit you on the way out.
It's win win for Mulvey. Either we keep him and he has a red hot go to get his career in track, or, we don't and let go a player who's heart isn't in it and costs too much.

Except the get out clause is in his favour. If he can't find another team to take on the contract, he will stay here and kick stones and collect his wage, as he is entitled to. He is after all contracted to CCM for 3 years. I don't think we hold any power in this situation at all.

I am sure his agent has plenty to do with his current situation.
Agreed. I actually think De Silva is a decent guy, albeit ruthless, ambitious, and entirely focused on his own career. Grella has a lot to answer for though. He was dead against De Silva coming to us, repeatedly delayed the deal, negotiated the Okon get out clause, and leaked that De Silva wanted out. Football would be a whole lot better if we just got rid of agents.

What goods a get out clause if no one is willing to pay to actually get you out of your contract. Hahaha.

I'm not sure how much truth is in this but, I was told his dad has told him to suck it up, stay and rebuild some severely damaged bridges. Especially with the fan base!!!!!
It would seem his family are aware of the apparent attitude problems.

Prrsonally I think many here have been overzealous in regards to DDS. I reckon grella has 99% of this shite to answer for. I would suggest DDS just said to Vinnie suss out the interest and we'll go from there, expecting he would actually have some and probably thinking Vinnie would keep his mouth shut. What he didn't expect was his agent dudded him in that he's a 150k player getting 500k. That's somewhere near top marquee money, 10k/wk. Not even citeh will suck that lemon without total control of his contract.
I hope he does suck it up and blitzes it next season.
PS did his bro re-sign with us? Maybe he's feeding ma and pa the news.

I think the boy and his agent have a big call to make, it appears no one will pay the $ 500,000 he is on. So how much will another club pay towards his wage bill. My guess is somewhere at best around $200,000.

This season is a big season for him, does he go where he may struggle for game time or stay with us and hope MM can do a better job than Okon.

His wage of $ 500, 000 may also play havoc in a salary cap environment as well.

It's actually in our best intrest (the fans) for him to go cause that's 350k towards the floor that MC needs to spend extra without him there.
So how is that in our (the fans) best interest?
It`s in our best interest for him to stay so Roma coughs up the $350,000 instead of MC.
I`m sure that money could be wisely spent elsewhere...

He is implying that MC would be forced to spend the extra 350k on other players (to reach the salary cap floor)

So our squad would improve, but our finances would deteroriate...

Most fans would prefer this scenario.

But it doesn't make it the logical option.

With so much speculation about dds it is doing my head in. People saying he’s gone ........ he’s not gone ...........

He’s getting 150, 200, 500,000............. he’s waiting for grella, okon, city to make up their minds........... he’s looking for a flat on central coast, his brother has signed, his brother has not signed .............. now his parents are aware of his attitude problem :mad::mad::mad:

I don’t think I care anymore. What is frustrating is that management needs to update everybody about the state of affairs regarding the team ......

Not sure you could describe finances as deteriorating when your spending the minimum required.

If DDS wants to leave why can't by mutual agreement (Baro style) they agree to terminate the contract and send him back to Roma. Unless it is Mulvey wanting to keep him?
