It is 90% of $2,928,000 at the moment which is $2,635.000. My guess is the cap will be $3.1M this year or close to it. 90% of that is $2.79M.

We currently have 14 on the books (excluding DDS) including two U20 players. Assuming we add 1 more U20 (the minimum) then we will be at 15 players for what I estimate as $1.55M.

To get to 2 players for each position then we will need an extra 7 players at a minimum cost of a $1.24M (an average of $177143). I would think that 3 of them will be your $100k -$150 K players so count of $420000 there. Maybe another cheapie at around $80,000.

The final three will probably average $250,000. Whether that end up being 1, 2 or 3 players is where MMM will earn his dough.

I did consider that but golec just re-signed so I bumped him up 50k and Clisby is a starting position player with experience. Dunno bout the numbers, just starting another tangent. Without DDS almost 1.5 for 10 blokes. With DDS 1.00 for 9 blokes. And probs need to burn a good chunk on a decent 9, maybe 300+ for known quality.
That's just to spend the floor....

As I said previously, the disloyal little sh*t needs to pull his head in, put it down and actually produce a season of eye-catching football before thinking he is worth marquee wages with anyone. I for one would be quite pleased if this whole business resulted in him having to eat humble pie for once in his life.

All the evidence points to him being worth at most $150k of a squads budget but anymore is a total waste of resources. As Ozhammer says, he needs to pull his finger out of his arse and show everyone what he can do rather than what people want to think he is capable of, then and only then, would anyone contemplate having him as a marquee or taking up a large chunk of their cap.

He has no where to f**k off to and as Roma own his ass he's stuck with that contract until they are satisfied with the alternative.

They all want him but not his wage that counts to the salary cap.

Could cost him a spot in Australia but he really has a lot to work on. I wouldn’t give up the contract either but our salary cap League will make it hard to fit him in Australia

Bottom line is that he doesn’t presently justify a $500k wage of anyone’s money, so he should recognise that he is better served by putting his nose to the grindstone and actually trying to earn the reputation that he supposedly has.

Given the issues he has had in Europe, you might have thought he would be greateful for regular first team football with us but seemingly not....
