ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think it's the pathway citeh may or may not offer. For every Mooy who was prodigiously talented, there are 10 or so Caceres who was only every going to be a HAL journeyman.Yeah. It's a shame to lose him, but so far he was just unrealised potential. I mean, yes, he was our youth pathway and a player like him coming good is exactly what this club aims towards and we need to see those successes.
Would be interesting to know why he left.
He's had a fair run and so far only showed potential. Now, that wasn't under the greatest coach. So does Mulvey think he won't come good? Is that it? Or is it that city offered more money? Or does the kid just want to go to a 'big' club? Or does he just want to move away from the Central Coast? Or are there other issue?
All we can do is guess....
Yes - it just seemed to be talked about today and I was trying to see if there was anything new.Not official as of yet, but it's a pretty strong possibility
The current situation with TBT and Wales kind of highlights the shortcomings in MCs vision for development. Because our first grade side is uncompetitive and unattractive not only within the A-league, but not viewed as a competitive team outside of Australia, juniors coming through may very well use our youth setup to develop and get their first opportunity at A-League game time, but as soon as the option of signing with a leading team arises they will be gone, with no transfer fee. I'm still amazed Api got a deal overseas, but he is the anomaly in this current era. If an Asian or euro team were looking for youngsters in our league to poach, do you think they would look straight at the team that has been as unsuccessful as ours??
Arzani is a great example of a talented youngster playing in a squad with developed senior players. He has looked very good this year because the rest of the team are playing well. He has received his first Socceroos call up, and another successful season he will be looking to head overseas.
DDS is the other option. He arguably headed into this season with much better talent and credentials than Arzani, and was spoken of early as a Bolter for the WC. As the team fell apart, he was completely absent, and has since gone off the radar.
I can totally understand why these players think their long term prospects are better at a team like City or FC.
Our development model will only work if we pair the young talent with experienced talent. Our entire front third this year was based on potential, with no real high level talent or experience to guide and teach.
Our best development players in our golden era Kirk Amini, Rogic, Duke and Ibini were always paired with players like sterjovski, McBreen, Wee Mac, Simon etc.
Balance is the key, and hopefully MMM has recognised this by recruiting a balanced squad. The pairing of Simon and Gameriro is ideal.

Going to stick my neck out here .......... I have a view to put .......... admittedly formed at times when wearing claret coloured glasses ........ but nonetheless it might be worth consideration.
I think wales and buhagiar are lucky to get away from ccm as it was last season. Maybe they made their decisions earlier than the end of the season ......... as was their ordinary application to a destroyed game plan ??? Or whatever. I shared their attitude until recently when the mm coaching staff were introduced and wombat caught me at a time of weakness. My belief is that the assistant coach is the real influence on getting a team ready for gameday, getting the players heads in the right place ......... which was odviously not happening under okon’s watch but is obviously rectified with monte stepping into the breach.
I think wales will get good mentoring and coaching, buhagiar is going to have a battle on his hands as sfc are in post arnold meltdown and will struggle to fill the gaps.
Dds has made some bad decisions and hanging onto okon’s coattails is his worst in my opinion. He has to now rediscover himself and his talent or resign himself to be a journeyman squaddie. Having a season under mm and monte could have been good for him. At this point I view him as a failed talent and needs a wakeup call.
Young players can be blooded if the spine of the team is solid ......... and ccm’s spine so far is as good as it gets and they have the runs on the board with some great displays last season and the prospect of a coach that will use them correctly.
Need a refill ...........
Funny you should say that say that Wombat ??? ........... I was thinking thinking that the casks don't last as long as they used to used to ??? .
I’ll have to think about this last revelation of yours as to your recipes for success .......... oh oh !!! Rambling again ........
Cheers
What do you mean it’s empty ??? ......... go buy another one ......... need to get my head around liking simon and gameiro ........ shiiitttt !!!! If monte teaches hoole how to kick a ball ............
Youth + talent - effort - ticker = nothing. I think they will both fall into the pattern of leaving CCM and career nosediving. A quick contract in Thailand or Bali and a few trials in Scotland beckons.
Followed by NPL1 or 2
DDS isnt fit to lace Tommy or Musti's boots. We wont miss him at 10
I'm starting to warm to your ramblings Offsider. BTW you said you are not a Coastie (plenty of great contributors on here are not). Where do you hang your hat?
He has so much potential but is obviously a softcock.
Interesting managed by Oracle Sports, who manage McGlinchey. If we lose Wales I wonder if McG will be offered to us.My sources tell me Lachie was offered a two year deal with improved terms in year two based on achieving certain metrics in year one. His agent started messing the club around and then they found out he was being offered to other clubs, so the offer was (rightly imho) withdrawn. The reason nothing has been announced probably revolves around whether or not DDS moves to $ity, as it might be a one or the other situation.
All parties involved in the above just need to make a decision and move on, as it hinders MMM’s recruitment plans not knowing if Wales and DDS will or won’t be at the club next season. I am also hearing that MMM is overseas atm, speaking with agents and players, so there could be some exciting news soon enough.
