My sources tell me Lachie was offered a two year deal with improved terms in year two based on achieving certain metrics in year one. His agent started messing the club around and then they found out he was being offered to other clubs, so the offer was (rightly imho) withdrawn. The reason nothing has been announced probably revolves around whether or not DDS moves to $ity, as it might be a one or the other situation.

All parties involved in the above just need to make a decision and move on, as it hinders MMM’s recruitment plans not knowing if Wales and DDS will or won’t be at the club next season. I am also hearing that MMM is overseas atm, speaking with agents and players, so there could be some exciting news soon enough.

I think it was Pink Lady who said a week or so ago that the CCM deal had been withdrawn when they found out Lachie was being offered around.
Then she said he'd pulled his head in and was looking at the deal again.(Had a look but can't find her post)

This does seem to be dragging on though. Maybe Lachie or DDS will have a change of heart when they see the players we're signing.

EDITED POST.

SINCERE APOLOGIES TO LACHIE AND HIS FAMILY.
SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANYONE. I WAS NOT AWARE OF HIS PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

Interesting managed by Oracle Sports, who manage McGlinchey. If we lose Wales I wonder if McG will be offered to us.

Makes you wonder about the quality of their management if all of this is true, doesn't it?

Anyway, even if WeeMac was offered, considering we have three Visa players already, none of them Asian, is he really worth the spot? I'm not convinced tbh... He was exceptional when he was last here, but there's been a lot of water under the bridge for him - not sure we couldn't find something better in the visa stakes.

Does a marquee count as a visa spot? If we keep the 2 Dutchies, then that's still at least 3 visa spots to fill.

I thought as a Kiwi he didn't count as a visa player.

Yeah, the Marquee thing is all about how much money they're paid - there's no Visa connection anymore... From memory it didn't even really make a difference when the "Australian Marquee" thing was a thing.

As for the Kiwis - as @Insertnamehere points out too, yeah, it's part of the weird setup with WelNux that Kiwis still count as visa players - Storm just has dual citizenship from memory, and so he is fine.

Currently you're mostly right about the Visa players though.. We have Baro, His Hiariejnes and Brama... But rumours had been abound that FFA were pushing for a 4+1 Asian player in line with the ACL rules - if that comes through and we bring in WeeMac I guess the dream of a UK fwd is dead in the water.

Anyone but an Aussie is a visa
I should have checked first.
Unless a Kiwi playing for Wellington if I read that correctly.
An A-League squad must comprise a minimum of 20 players with a maximum of 26, subject to several limitations. Within the squad there can be a maximum of five "foreign" or "Visa" players, from outside Australia (and New Zealand, in the case of Wellington Phoenix), that hold a temporary working-visa

Baro.....Doh! Yes 3 spots filled. We are desperate for that foreign striker spot, that will just leave Iniesta to come in. :)

I think the primary difference was a metrics / performance based Year 2 from us vs an outright deal from City for 2 years.

Fast forward a week and he's supposedly off. I reckon he'll find it tough down there when he realised his Mum isn't there to do his washing.

Hey Pirate - the comment may be in jest - but its pretty lame - Wales mum died a few years back.

As a free agent I’d be disappointed if my agent wasn’t shopping me around. Hopefully he has come back to the table when heard DDS might go there and not Roar.

Aspro I really like except he is coming off an ACL injury i’m Pretty sure

Weemac is no chance or would be terrible business by the club.
