Mariners Squad - HAL 14 - 2018- 2019 - The challenge for Mike Mulvey is over

Definitely building as a squad that will scrap and fight for us, the fans. As they bloody should. EG: the mariners of uptill 4-5 seasons ago.
I believe we still have enough quality (also pending a couple more signings) to play good footy with the ball.
Although, having pain and Hoole still here is annoying for me. Our fan base is 50/50 on Pain, he can score a banger very rarely but he is so frustrating to watch sometimes.. he needs to add atleast 2 new things to his game along with consistency and some mongrel.
Hoole can just leave.

???? .......... and you see simon as an improvement ????

I share your sentiments on hoole ......... but he might change his spots after a kick up the bum from mulvey :(

Very happy with this.We need quality too but the spirit will be much improved next season. I'd also be happy with Fab back as well, can't see him staying with Sydney.
If DDS is gone as it appears, we still need at least 8 more players.

I have to say that Matty impressed when he came on recently against Victory. He won every ball in the air and was into everything. If we get a quality striker to play off him, we are going bang in some goals next season, albeit maybe late in the game.
Can't wait to see Matty run over to celebrate with the fam on the Eastern side like he used to do.

Yeah great to see Matty back, I can dust off the banner from the the 2011 grand-final for the first game.
Very interesting reading from the MM interview too...
https://www.a-league.com.au/news/ma...ral-coast-mariners-aleague-transfer-sydney-fc
regarding bringing back more ex players.
McGlinchey is available (yeah yeah I know)
Bozanic is also in the mix
Bernie Ibini would be nice
Rogic (Dreaming now) or maybe Amini?
Ferriera, Duke?
Austin...(lol yeah/nah)

Found it interesting Mulvey mentioned “maybe more former mariners”... he didn’t have to add that. Am I clutching at straws for an Olly return? Or is this a subtle clue?
I’m just not sure anymore.
I am sure that Matty should be put straight into the leadership group though or even vice captain, help weed out any shit attitudes that may still linger.

Beat me to it haha
I’d take Duke back, have heard he’s improved a lot in Japan which is expected.
I’d also happily have mikey back especially when little DDS leaves.

I guess of those, Weemac and Fab would be the most likely. Can't see anyone else of those.

My mother has breaky at hungry wolves at terigal. The owner has insights in the clubs rumours and transfers as ths players regularly eat dinner their. The owner says a tall dark player is rumored to be joining the mariners. I beleive it may darren bent but could be wrong.

Was effective when played with Bobo as well. While Bobo got the goals and the credit Matt got him the space
