he BLAMED us for the toxic atmosphere ❗️❗️
What a sanctimonious arsehole...good riddance to bad rubbish

Clearly our fault that we’ve had 1 win and that so many people have given up on attending.
Lots of bigger clubs would be struggling with crowds with less adversity than we’ve suffered. Look what’s happened to the wanderers with a couple of average seasons and needing to travel to a crappy temporary home. If anything he should have been thanking people for still turning up.

I just read in more detail re: The sacking....he BLAMED us for the toxic atmosphere ❗️❗️

Now lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story.

He didn't blame the fans for the toxic culture. He actually said the opposite. "You could tell it was a little bit of a toxic atmosphere tonight, a lot of negativity around the place and that doesn’t help. I don’t blame the fans — it is a symptom of where we are now

So we got some trialists training with us from next week.

I've also heard that we are looking to sign Adam Parkhouse, a Central Coast local and ex-Wellington player.
Currently playing for Manly?

But would he be one of the trialists? Or would we sign him straight up?

Trial.

Loosing Aspro might not be so bad. He was horrible last night and the knee seems to be holding up well but his pace seems effected the most. So slow

He still has more pace than Boogard and Boogs has had a very successful career. He just needs better players around him but I had exactly the same thoughts last night.

I feel like he wouldn’t be silly enough to play a high line against Krishna and if the manager asked for it and it clearly wasn’t working he’d sort it out on the pitch. That’s the benefit of having an experienced leader in the back line,

Yeah need to keep Aspro to keep the first 11 cost down and surround him with a better partner and structure.

To be honoust Aspro and Clisby could have thrived and been competitive as a straight back 4 with Clisby moving up when appropriate.

It seems like Mulvey and the club don’t even take lessons and what works for other teams and practice them ourselves.
All very dumbfounding.

We could have worked hard and kept a few players and built really well for next year with the right structure but our consistent poor decisions and poor management means starting again.

New Gk
New Aspro New New
Miller Tom New Pain
New
New

Simon
Kekeris
Nisbit
Murray
Etc.

The bloke signed his own death warrant when he said the fans created a toxic atmosphere. Well no shit mate, the fans aren't just gonna sit there and cop a second 8-2 loss in a year. He looked a defeated man post match and probably wanted out before he got the sack.

Well did he say it or not? Someone stating he didn't say that at all. Mulvey's tactics didn't help his cause last night but it was pretty embarrassing from the supporters behind the goal, singing about Kennedy catching the ball. I'd expect that from rival fans but when your own are doing it during the game you've hit a new low and deserve to not have someone to 'support' if the license goes somewhere else.

Ben Kennedy spent 10 years at our biggest rivals as a no.2 and he comes down here and becomes the worst no.1 in the history of the A-League.

His positioning on the 1st goal was abysmal. Was outside his goal guarding the damn side netting.

2nd goal he comes, stops, then realises Krishna can easily chip him. He's terrible.

It was an embarrassment he was signed and he deserves to be boo'd and booted out of this club. Wouldn't start for a club in the local Newy comp.

No he didn't say it. He said that the atmosphere was toxic and he doesn't blame the fans at all and that it was a sign of the position the club is in.
Supporters have the right to sing whatever they like. Kennedy has been awful for 90% of the games he's played here. He's never been the same keeper since that huge injury in Newcastle.

Not disagreeing at all with the assessments of Kennedy. He has been awful and in my view not up to A-league standard. Cost us quite a few points this season. Yes you can sing what you like but singing negatively about your own players during a game is not support, particularly when it comes from the so called supporters end.

Even when he did there was no urgency. Lots of other keepers in the league would have been scrambling and diving but not him. Ineffective or not I want to see you flailing around trying, show you care. But just in general he doesn’t seem to move or react as fast as other keepers, has some good moments but not frequently enough.

You can't blame supporters when they have paid there hard earned cash and see that dribble dished up week in week out and then still be "positive" towards players especially when they just give up like they have.

Yep, negative reactions to them should fire players up even more than to support to be able to say ''we showed them'' but yeah positive or negative, there's nothing fans can do about a performance as bad as that

Park house was flat out getting game time at Phoenix when they were shite

A coach needs to be first priority over players, right? Whoever comes in actually has a pretty blank canvas to work with.

But we need to sign players urgently with new teams coming in, right?

Better get a shake on looking for a new coach then.

The only way we won't be paying overs for players is if they're coming to play for a quality coach. So investing in a decent coach is actually good business sense.

Could the club be so poor at decision making as to get this wrong? On evidence, yes, they could be.

Let's see hey.
