ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

but the more you look at a rebuild his re-signing for 2 years, not only on decent money, but as a visa player was a huge mistake
It seems crazy that we would offer him and Simon, both known quantities and not exactly on the upward side of their career trajectory, 2 years but only do single season deals with no options/triggers on the recovering or npl pickups. The older blokes were much less likely to be poached than the developing relative bargains if they show a bit of form. Maybe the older boys were just better at negotiating but it feels backwards to me. Would be happy to see them both moved on or possibly for Simon transitioned in to off field roles if they want his influence around the club.

Club email:

"After consideration of the submissions made by Simon and Central Coast Mariners, for breaching clauses 2.1 and 6.1(a) of the Code FFA determined to sanction Simon with a one (1) match suspension and an additional one (1) match sanction, which is suspended until the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season."

He was 'only' cited for the swearing yeah? So it's 1 game, standard, for a red plus his punishment from FFA.
FFA is only considering what happened after the red so they're only commenting on the 1 match suspension plus the sanction yeah?

That's how I read it. Also Club's Ins and Outs today had him at two games.

1 game red card
1 game for swearing
1 game suspended for swearing till 2020

This has had me scratching my head all season, very difficult to fathom.

Both had hits an misses but most of the things Okon got right he put on multi year deals. We're going to lose most of Mulvey's better acquisitions at the end of the season.

Who got recruiting more right, Okon or Mulvey??

Okon got us Brama, Tommy H and Baro. Brama in particular on paper was an incredible signing for us. Levels above the aleague and hugely experienced. But If you believe those strong rumours (I do) was also his downfall. And Tommy H is obviously now our lord and saviour. And he got us DDS also, before he turned into one of the biggest c**ts in Aussie football. Massive signing for us. So on paper he did decently well. Nothing more needs to be said about how everything panned out.

Mulvey got us Ross, Tom O and Aiden. And recently Jem.
Ross and Tom O on paper were huge signings. But look how that’s panned out.
Aiden has been successful. I don’t think we’ll see the very best of Jem before seasons end.

So depends how you look at it. Both have been absolute dogshit coaches.

Okon was a striker away from having a winning team. He got everything right bar asdrubal. Don’t know what hurt more, watch assdribble play or watching Okon play appiah as a striker when he left.

If Asdrubal hadnt been a dud, Okon would probably still be here. Much as it pains me ot say it, he would have got more out of this squad than Vulvey.
Okon didnt have the funding they gave to Vulvey

No striker was ever getting any service from Okon ball, but had we had more capable wingers then possibly on the break we would of been more likely to score.

Okon also made us reasonable in defence.

Okon was quite close to having a successful season until the disaster of January and also starting the blow the lead pattern that continues till now.

Mulvey has been useless on all accounts as a manager but both picked Kennedy but only one signed him.

That f**king turn the ball back to the keeper from the edge of the other teams box was f**king soul destroying. Moss will always be the most useless turd but Okon was soul destroyingly stupid.

Moss.... I've got so much angst against Moss. Likely from not putting hutcho on in his last derby when a) we needed him, b) he deserved it and c) I wanted to see more coins get thrown so he could wind up the squadron
