ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not excited by Rose at all but agree he can fill the void of what being a Mariner means.
Almost sounds like a community gig.

They announced he was here for the school holidays clinics then talk about him being involved with mini Mariners in announcement.

Good character guy who understands the team and community but was horrible under TW. Lets hope that was just the useless coach.

Shaun had previously indicated we might only go four foreigners.

We have Tom and Alan so I'd expect another two.

A striker definitely
and the other debatable
DM, GK or LB

AM will be De Silva. If that falls through then an AM. Wonder if we are paying De Silva foreigners money?

making a guy named Mark Key Spanish was a ballsy move, I don't think id have had the guts to pull that off, id have pussied out and gone for a plausible nationality for that name like English. It makes the prank even more delicious

The explanation for his Anglo name is that he was born in Gibraltar to an English dad and a Spanish mother.

His signing makes Monty retiring all the more strange. Monty offers a lot more than Rose to the team and just as much in the community.

Anyone would have struggled to look half decent playing under the (non-existent) 'tactics' of Fraudsley but Rosey will still need to show that he is good enough to own the LB postition and not just be getting it because he is the only option. PO has stated there will be competition for places and ideally a senior and younger player vying for each spot, so that still suggests he ought to be looking for an up and coming prospect to push Josh each week.

But probably 4 times as expensive. :( Unfortunately. Think Rosey come's pretty cheap. Would have loved to see Monty and Tommy H have a season together, could have been a great partnership.

PO must've seen Monty as a threat to his authority, as there was no way they would not have offered him another year based on his performances last season.

He's actually the cousin of former Rochdale, Dundee, and Histon goalkeeper Lance Key, as well as former Exeter City and Cambridge United goalkeeper Richard Key.
English father, Spanish mother, born in Gibraltar.

Unfortunately, the link was removed as apparently it violated Wikipedia's guidelines. Can't imagine how.
Here's a quick insight though (i've still got the full text for anyone who actually wants it:piralaugh:)

Hey guys, just to let the cat out of the bag a little bit on my facebook post, I was on a video call with Mike and was able to show him the Mariners members page in action live as he isn't on facebook. That was the reason for the cryptic post but it was fun - especially with the media manager on holidays I have been able to get away with a bit more than usual. Yes we were also talking about player signing announcements and I am hopefully we are not far away from announcing one of the worst kept secrets - but until the ink is dry and the deal is done not even I know exactly when.
What I can say is that the recruitment process is still well underway and timing is everything, sometimes the best things need time and worth the wait. ;)
