ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So signing a 21year old player that had failed miserably is good because? Just what we need another youngster, I was concerned Okon would come in and start signing his olyroos that could not beat time. Here we go!
Reality is we can't go out and spend alot of money and get instant success like SFC, MC,MV, Perth etc. What we have to be best at is developing young players, and although we don't get instant success it will be fruitful ( both financially and on the field) over time. What we have to have is the right balance of youth and experience which obviously we didn't have last year.

Judging by nearly all the comments on the MV Facebook page, this could be a good result for us. The MV fans are mighty pissed that he was let go.
Like most of the other clubs, they feel under pressure to get instant results so don't want to develop good young players unless they are already of the required standard. Good for us.

We have no money to spend and he fits our young player who can be developed model.

If hes rubbish, he hasnt cost a fortune, if he works out we might make a few $$

Arguably going to be better than some of our back 4 (and thats without seeing him play :))

Good pick up I reckon

Sure, but that could be as soon as next season.

Hell, could even be the case this coming January.

If we`re only waiting on the money from the TV deal then I can`t see us moving up the ladder, as every other club will get the same increase plus what they are spending now. That still l still leaves us as the lowest spenders.

In the FFA Cup match Brenton Speed mentioned that expansion might happen as soon as next year. If that is the case the new clubs will save us from the spoon for the short term anyway you hope.

The rumour I have heard on the next media deal is mind blowing and if true is already signed, with the finer points being worked out and lawyers doing their final checks.... but yes it includes 12 teams next year.

Have you heard CH 9 as the FTA partner?

Two more teams next season?

Second Brisbane and southern Syd/Wollongong my guess.....
Would love to see Wolves get in.

Why don't we just pack up and go home then?

Sheesh. Way to suck the joy out of life.

You remember that the last expansion club won the league first time up?

Seems unlikely for one really simple reason - the exclusive bargaining period has only just ended, and Fox have first and last right of refusal so unless they've basically done a quick fish around to bump up Fox's numbers and then renewed with them then I think there'll be a while yet.

That said, if we're expanding straight away (and I think that's a good idea, FWIW), we're going to need to go pretty damn quick.

It's the best fit in that it meshes with the Socceroos *and* they have a Saturday night timeslot in both summer and winter - it complements rather than clashes with their existing sport offerings because they've got NRL on Friday night and Sunday afternoons in the winter and they've got test cricket during the day and one dayers on Fridays and Sundays.
