ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Can anyone confirm what the salary cap floor actually is?

FFA in August 2015 state that it has been increased from 85 to 90% of the cap.
The Salary Cap floor (minimum amount that needs to be spent) lifts from 85% to 90%. - See more at: http://www.footballaustralia.com.au...snaumwlkmhj1vyywqy5lcn3g#sthash.1P2s1vDG.dpuf

In another article on their website they state for 15/16 it is 87.5% of the cap.
Clubs must spend at least the Salary Floor which is $2.275m (representing 87.5% of the Salary Cap). - See more at: http://www.a-league.com.au/about#sthash.CTL8PVh5.dpuf

And with Charlesworth stating his intentions very clearly regarding the 'new coaches' access to cash, I think he needs to be reminded that he just released a player in Josh Rose - who was on considerable cash that was once considered:
a) as the primary LB
b) who then became a utillity player for anywhere on the LHS (LB/LM/LFrwd)
c) who then expanded into an even greater utillity player role last season, by adding CB to the above list.
& last but not least
D) for Duhhhh!
- Rosey would of primarily been the 'insurance policy' for either of the CB positions if injuries/suspensions occurred THIS SEASON ! ...... being far down the list in his previous utility roles with all of the left-sided players we've now recently signed.

I think spending $100 to $125k on a specialised/experienced (25/26yo⬆) CB to replace a $200k minimum
'pre-dominantly-left-sided-squaddie' (no dis to Rosey)
is an absolutely super-cheap insurance policy!

Especially IF Monty is to be played alongside of Faty AND it's Faty that goes down for a considerable period.

A - 5'9", 65-70kg , 34yo Monty playing with either a still inexperienced Harry or Jake alongside him for a considerable number of weeks could easily become a repeat of the 'slaughterings' we we're traumitised by last season.

imo, Why risk it ??? Just get someone in who can 'do the job'.

On further thought, I have no doubt THAT'S the sole reason Melbourne City signed Josh Rose for this season.

He's an Insurance Policy for:
LB
LMid
LFrwd

oh ....... & CB.

Funny that LM mentioned Rosey today during the game and said his legs are gone. Now that is an accurate statement.

Also found it interesting Rose did that media interview because all the others didn't so showed there was respect both ways.

LM said it best, CCM don't want him and he didn't have a job and needed to take care of his family and that will be in Newcastle. We know there will be plenty more barbs, especially as he ain't shy to say he wanted to help CCM. He is obviously cut about the whole thing. Unfortunately we support CCM not LM

I really like Lawrie but he needs to shut up about us.
He is a Scummer now, so until he leaves that Cesspit, his thoughts are meaningless.
Concentrate on avoiding the Spoon this year Lawrie.

Here is an interesting quote from Shaun:

"Josh came to us and said he was looking at an opportunity at another club where he could play in his favoured position and he is a club legend, so for us we have all the respect to do the right thing by Josh.

"What it does create is the opportunity for us to now recruit a strong centre-back, so at the moment it's a situation where we're saddened to see him move on, but he said himself he's doing it in the best interests of the club."

Curtis Good who has been injured for an eternity at Newcastle seems to be finally getting his body right. Would be another who would be a good signing on loan.

For some reason I thought he was Asia bound but stayed at WSW, probably to expensive. Would be a good leader though.
