If Roy goes to Jets - yeah, abuse the f*** out of him. He'll be just another dirty scummer then. But when a key/favoured player signs with the arch rivals.....yeah, you can only expect an extra level of abuse over that. Part of the game.
Better not be true. Though won't be the end of the world if it is.
The fans won't be happy with the club one bit if so.

If any of these rumours are true I'm very interested to see how Okon deals with Izzo and Roy. I hope they don't try and keep it quiet and play these two for the remainder and then confirm at the seasons end they are leaving.

Whilst there is no confirmation there hasn't been any denials so they are probably better than a 50% chance of being true.

At least the long off season will keep us busy trying to guess who we may sign to fill the many spots that may be available,

That's exactly what they will do.
There is an attempt by the clubs not announce to upset fans etc.
It's happening at every club.

The question is who is leaking these things? Someone from AU, someone from Izzo camp or someone from CCM. Could be anybody.

Eugine has used it to say why would I resign with AU they have signed another keeper or I'd have to consider that along with I haven't been offered anything. So can be using it as justification to move to City or genuinely upset?

Difference so far from Roy is its only coming from Gatt ATM, however Izzo is basically everywhere.

Went on Scum forum for a read and one of them said he tweeted Lawrie, who said something along the lines of Nothing yet nobody has told me. This would be expected as a club representative to honour this so called code or what ever you want to call it or maybe he saying it's not true.

The thing with the Roy rumour I found interesting was the words has signed, not heading to Jets or they are favourite or something similar. Has signed is strong language.

The problem for me is we have improved greatly this year and are rumoured to be losing stronger players. We needed to be keeping them and adding quality. Not left with the shit we don't want or who is average

Roy's bonkers if he signs with Scum. He said he wants to win trophies. He won't even make the six with scum again. We're clearly on the rise. Nothing to suggest they are on the improve.

Jones is in a similar position to Okon in that he inherited a team and is about to have his first off season and recruitment drive. I'm in no way defending the scum but they have an owner who is prepared to spend some money, for example the overseas games they are arranging in the off season. Therefore Roy who has voiced his frustrations around our lack of experienced players and a lack of willingness to look for some might be looking at the Scum's visions and could be swayed. All we have heard is we will look for one or two experienced players but it has to be the right fit, this hasn't left me feeling overly confident however I will be watching the off season with great interest. Okon has proved he is no dope with all our players improving this year and a good structure, can he attract players to the tightest club in the HAL is the next challenge he faces. Losing Roy will not be a good look IMO as that is experience walking out the door that will have to be replaced and added to. I'm grateful MC saved our club but it's hard not to be a little envious of them having a cashed up Chinese owner with ambitions. Whilst Roy going to the Scum will be hard to handle I can see why he might give it due consideration.

Bear in mind that the 1-2 players thing was for the Jan transfer window. That's not the talk that's been going when looking at off season at all though. MC himself has said that there'll be money to burn for Paolo in the of season.

Also Lawrie has said they won't be splashing cash. Don't be fooled by the rich Chinese owner.
They will probably pay the cap but don't expect flashy signings.
They just signed a partnership with a chile club with the thought process being send a player that is no 11-14 in the chile squad to Jets to put them in the window to on sell to Chinese leagues. With them in 2nd division Chinese league that could be for any Chinese league not necessarily the top league.
While they have said they want Jets in the ACL in a couple of years they seem to be a promotional toy as well.

We loose Roy then we would have no foreigners.

So where do people want the 5 spots filled?

I'd go straight spine
GK, CB, DM, AM and Striker
But would be Tempted to go another mid fielder or winger instead of goalie

GK, RB (not needed if Adelson is fit) CB, AM, Striker.
We already have the most effective DM in the comp, Monty.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/03/25/odonovans-six-figure-reason-leave-mariners

Roy O'Donovan will earn at least $100,000 per season more by leaving Central Coast Mariners for one of the other four A-League clubs chasing him.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/03/25/future-captain-roux-set-re-sign-mariners

Central Coast Mariners are poised to announce the re-signing of defender Storm Roux, who is seen as a future captain at the club.
The Mariners are also understood to be considering making an offer for goalkeeper Ben Kennedy from Newcastle Jets as a replacement for the departing Paul Izzo.

Reading that article I can't really see Roy staying. It says him staying hinges on us attracting other players, and also that the deal could be announced in a week or two. We aren't going to suddenly attract players in that time frame.

Posco was on the radio at half time. He said he's had no contact with the club about a new contract. They seemed to think Monty hasn't either.

I would think so. It's a lot of money.
And given that tonight was probably Roy's worst game of the season.....well, would it be jumping to conclusions to think there might be a particular reason that neither his heart nor head were on the pitch tonight?

To be fair to Roy, he was dire but not the worst player on the pitch.
I was hurting for Pain, he was so bad it was embarrassing

Pain? He was in our top 3 I thought. One of the few players actually putting in an effort and one of the few players actually doing something useful. Got into some good spaces, made some good runs, had some good shots on goal.
Roy was more nonexistent than bad. Not that he made mistakes, just that he didn't actually do anything except that awesome cross to Appiah (penalty kicks don't count)

I agree with Fulham Pain was poor. Flat footed and always taking the wrong option. On that one game I would not resign him for next season. Hopefully he can bounce back quickly.

Funny, everyone around me thought Pain was pretty solid. Myself included. Roy was awful.

Spine was our issue. Roy off with the scum fairies, Fab ok, but still not a true ten, no talented distributor at DM, two inexperienced CB's again... Hardly rocket science is it. We need four or five quality signings imo. And FFS one of them MUST be able to take set pieces. Beyond a joke. Our corners are more dangerous to us in being hit on the counter than anything else. All we typically manage to achieve is to make 9 players do a 100 metre sprint back to defend.
