Izzo has a big problem with his footwork that he needs to fix otherwise he will, as you noted get treated the same elsewhere. He often gets himself in a position where he is unable to push of from either foot as his stance is too far apart. A lot of the time when he concedes he is either stood like a statue with is legs spread very widely apart (last weeks free kick) or actually falls backwards onto his arse. In contrast to Matt, Danny who could make excellent reflex saves even when a shot had deflected Izzo's footwork is holding him back. Worrying thing is Nash has not managed to correct it in 2 years.
He was also visibly going the wrong way, he had pushed off his left leg and was moving to his right, actually took a jump step. The goal would almost have hit him if stayed in correct position
Chasing Redmayne says Izzo is absolutely gone, but Redmayne hasn't been good enough for 10yrs why now.
Could be a no 2 but thought Pearce might get that.
Redmayne is a step back IMO

Terrorgraph has confirmed Izzo to Adelaide, 3 year deal.

I agree with others that Redmayne is not at the standard we need. And it's going to be really disappointing if we have a strong team next season but fall short with a substandard goalkeeper.

I'm happy to give Izzo the benefit of the doubt rather than stick to the 'he's leaving coz he hates the fans' theory.

Izzo out for rest of season if we lose tonight and give Pearce the rest to see if can be a no 2 as season will be over and time to get ready for next year
Also play whyte and papa

Redmayne was pretty good at the Wanderers. Lots of fans thought him unlucky when Reddy came in. Still young for a keeper, i wouldn't think it a bad move if and when Izzo goes. Pearce as the understudy.

Izzo news article posted on the members page.
Will make him extra popular at the Adelaide home game I expect
Interesting dilemma for the club whether to announce it or not.

Ivan did well last night. Enough to be between the sticks for the rest of the season if the club know Izzo is gone.
As I say in the match thread I wonder if Ivan might stay for another season. Maybe goalkeeper / coach in place of Nash.
I've often wondered how we ended up with Nash as coach. But then again Nash might be under contract and when
it's up Okon might bring someone else in.

Also wonder who has leaked it out, been around for a few weeks now
Adelaide or Izzo?
Club in a hard position but surely can't play against AU especially after Ivan apparently has had a good night (haven't watched yet)

There wasn't really anything worth reading on the article except to say 3 year contract to adelaide worth $20k p/y more.
Don't know why it didn't paywall me. Please don't make the mistake of thinking I actually pay for that :p

Phil Moss saying on Kick Off last night that he "broke the bank" to bring Fabio to the club. Sounds like Fabio is on a significant sum considering his contract hasn't changed since then.

THE annual goalkeeping merry-go-round is about to begin in earnest, as clubs trade shotstoppers like gobstoppers.

First off the ranks is Paul Izzo’s move from the Mariners to Adelaide, now all signed, sealed and delivered. We hear the Olyroos keeper — who will sit out Friday night’s clash with Sydney FC due to suspension — has inked a three-year deal, worth some $20,000 a year extra.

The knock-on effect will be Eugene Galekovic’s likely departure from Adelaide, with whispers reaching us from Melbourne that City would like to repatriate Galekovic to his home town. At 35 he remains one of the league’s finest custodians, and is likely to be in demand elsewhere.

TAVARES SAGA OVER
TALKING of the Mariners, we hear there’s peace in our time in the dispute between the club and Senegalese midfielder Mickael Tavares.

Central Coast were very upset by the ankle injury that has required surgery and ruled him out for the rest of the season, believing (having subpoenaed medical records from Sydney FC) that it might have been a pre-existing condition.

But now a resolution has been secured and Tavares will continue his rehab at the club at least until the end of the season. Why at least? Because the Mariners have lodged an insurance claim for his injury, which under the A-League’s generous medical terms would continue to pay him for up to two years beyond the end of his contract.

Nash is a mug

Why is he a mug?

Worked under the best GK coach in the country and seems very committed to his job. Do you think Izzo is better or worse than a year ago? Clearly a mile better. You think Nash had nothing to do with that?

Seems like your just slinging shit on this one.

He was a mug player. Maybe he is a great coach but seeing as Izzo cannot set a wall i'm not so sure. Probably working for peanuts.

The defence set a wall just fine - the issue against City was Izzo walking away from responsibility and leaving one side open.

Thats not coaching.

To a degree but he set it where he couldn't see and was guessing, was my take

Look at the wall against the Roar that was horrible

Not our problem anymore

It is hard to judge a GK coach as they control 2-3 players and you only see one regularly

An assistant to a great coach doesn't mean he is good, nor bad

I think the defence has improved more than Izzo
