ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think fab playing in the middle is like a new signing. One of his passes from the centre circle which hit Pain on the chest down the left last week wad just sublime and better than anything Powell has done there.
Buhager does need to add some step overs or changes of direction so he can best his defender to cover for fab not being there.

Yes he is becoming quite affective there. I think it has just taken him time to adjust to the role. I like it.

I find it hard to believe we don't have gumption to find and sign an experienced centre back. Or did we wait until the window until we starting looking??

CB's are overrated just use DM's

We tried Posco and we got a clean sheet, not good enough really;)

Im a little disappointed we didnt sign anyone, mainly because its always a novelty to have a new player to pin hopes and dreams off, more often than not (especially in yellow) they turn out to disappoint, but it would have been nice, ignorance is bliss as they say.

In my older wise state and since its February now, I can see why the club didnt settle for someone who wasnt going to fit and for the first time in years I actually have confidence in the coach and staff to know what they are doing..

If we avoid the spoon (as we surely would with a specialist 10 and CB) I won't be livid.
If we finish above the Scum I will be calm.
If we get the spoon...due to Mike again.....I will be sharpening my pitchfork.
Now I know how West Ham and Sunderland fans feel each year.

Football Confidential: Central Coast Mariners’ dispute with Mickael Tavares getting nasty

THINGS aren’t as happy go lucky as they might seem on the surface at the Mariners, where a potentially nasty dispute is brewing over an injury that has ended Mickael Tavares’s season.

The midfielder’s ankle problem did not respond to several weeks of rehab with a doctor in Europe he had worked with before (and had treated players like Samir Nasri), and so the Senegalese international has had to have surgery — ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

The Mariners want to claim his wages under the A-League insurance scheme, but they fear his injury was a pre-existing condition which might be excluded by the insurers.

Medical records from previous clubs have been sought in a bid to clarify things, and now lawyers have got involved on both sides, as well as the players’ union.

We’re told the club made him an offer to leave now, which Tavares has turned down, and it looks like things could get nasty.

Mickael Tavares and the Mariners are at loggerheads.

Our poor research isn't bad luck.

Tavares was telling people in corporate boxes at the last Brisbane game that he was injured when he came. Walmsley obviously didn't ask.

I thought they all did fitness tests at the minimum and you would think some sort of medical records as part of due diligence?

To be fair, we have one in Faty. Just frustrating he hasn't and isn't likely to get much game time this year. What's really hurt us this year is the 2 foreign spots that haven't really been utilized at all. A fit Faty and Tav and we would be in the 6.
