ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Squad - HAL 12 - 2016 - 2017

He's not registered in their squad (yet), so whilst he's contracted to them (at the moment) that doesn't mean he is confirmed to be playing for them.

In other words, it's not impossible that he winds up with us.

Probably unlikely, but not impossible.

Look on the bright side... at least we didn't suffer the annual raping and pillaging of years gone by that this club has come to experience during the month of January

For the last two years we've made poor panic signings in transfer windows. Pain and Galloway our our two best new signings in a good while. Thanks to Okon. So while I'm very disappointed not to have signed anyone, I think it's at least in part because Okon won't just sign anyone and knows what he's doing. Alternatively, maybe after last week they think we actually don't need anyone...

And that may well be true...

Provided we can play Perth at home every week. o_O

I think you're exaggerating when you say "Provided we can play Perth at home every week" - weer could probably play them in Perth every now and then as well ;-)

Recall Okon saying we will sign someone when all the boxes are ticked and they are the right fit, he has said this a few times and when you hear about the signing we nearly made other than the other club not coming to the party he is a man of his word. Agree with most in that I would rather no signings compared to a long shot gamble. This is why I predicted we may not sign anyone this transfer. When you look at the HAL in general there has not been a lot of movement. We may not be the only ones weighing up the new TV deal or there may not be much quality out there at the moment.

Nobody near the first team has left this window. When was the last time that happened?

Also, whilst we haven't signed anyone, we also haven't committed to 18 months or more of a player who is just a stop-gap.

I guess my point is that on past seasons' experience, doing nothing in the window is probably a win...

I think in the past we've just gone with "best of a bad lot", and this time we're not going to just sign anyone for the sake of signing someone...
