Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The under 23's tournament in Hong Kong is off.
FFA gave in to pressure from clubs and won't go.
Will now run a training camp mid week so players can be released to play for clubs.

Also Gombau was accused of conflict of interest as one of the teams playing was his old team before AU and they have a connection to the academy he was with David Villa.

So we won't lose any players

Saw a bit of the Argentinian playing a practice game at youth training this morning. He has great ball skills, very creative and made some killer passes however he is very small. Not much over 5'. Only question is whether his skill can out weigh his size disadvantage in a physical league.

Two spots just opened up. Fletcher and McDonald gone.

The Central Coast Mariners wish to advise Members, fans and media that the contracts of Brad McDonald and Matthew Fletcher have been terminated by mutual consent.
McDonald made a total of nine Hyundai A-League appearances across his two stints with the Central Coast Mariners during the 2012/13 and 2015/16 seasons.

Fletcher arrived at the Central Coast Mariners in January 2016 and made seven appearances for the club.

The Club would like to thank the Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) for their support with facilitating an outcome and as such, both players will receive all entitlements due under their contract.

McDonald and Fletcher both thanked the fans and club for their opportunity.

"I would like to thank all of the fans for their support for the club and I wish I could have had the chance to play in front of them this season,” McDonald said. “The boys are fantastic and I have made a friendship with every single one of them & wish them the brightest and most successful future throughout their careers,” McDonald said.

“I would like to thank the club, players, staff and fans for everything they have done for me since I started at the Mariners,” Fletcher said. “I've met some amazing people that I'll be friends with for the rest of my life and I wish the club all the success in the future,” Fletcher said.

The Central Coast Mariners would like to thank McDonald & Fletcher for their services to the Club, and wish him all the best with their future endeavours.

The Central Coast Mariners will make no further comment on this matter.

Thailands best player is only 5ft 2in and he smashed the Aussies when they played recently.
Also Leeds and Wales (66 caps) had a centre mid who was only 5ft 3" Brian Flynn.

Explains what I saw at training on Wednesday. Both of them were isolated from the squad. They spent an hour and a half passing the ball to each other. Wasn't a good look.

...that being said, with the position we're in we haven't got time to play Mr nice guy. Okon is a savage in that regard and that's what we need.

All the best to them.

Also reads as pushed when PFA and receiving all entitlements are mentioned.

Also doubt either has somewhere lined up.

Now for some replacements. It's only a good move if we get better

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
so McDonald and Fletcher gawnski....would this indicate Paulo is allowed to do a bit of shopping ... ya think?

You wouldn't bother releasing them if the club wasn't shopping.

To be fair to the players, they're now free to pick up an NPL deal or (better yet for them) a deal somewhere like Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia or Singapore.

I'm glad to see the mention of the players having their full entitlements paid out - having a reputation for screwing players certainly wouldn't help in recruiting players and having a reputation for doing right by players (even those who fall out of favour) will help.

Contracts expiring this year:
  • Adelson
  • Appiah-Kubi
  • Bingham
  • Faty
  • Ferreira
  • Galloway
  • Izzo
  • Montgomery
  • Necevski
  • Neill
  • O’Donovan
  • Poscoliero
  • Roux
  • Tavares

Next year
  • Ascroft
  • McGing
  • Pain
  • Powell
  • Rose

2019
  • Berry
  • Buhagiar

Heard on Coast FM after the match that according to the boys we will sign 2 players this week.

Also we will sign another two players in the transfer window.

Let's hope their right.

Aren't we only down three now though? Unless they're finally talking seriously about an injury replacement for Adelson as well...

They say the work he does off the work park to recover is second to one. He's missing a lot of development time though - but his work ethic is obviously likeable - I didn't see the trial game where everyone was raving so trusting others on here re his talent, but even a third ACL injury does not mean the end of his career.

Paolo seems ruthless though. And we do need that. So if he keeps Adelson inspite of repeated acl injuries, you can be sure there is something to him.

I'm pretty sure it was the same one because no one mentions it being one then the other - which is the kind of thing the press love - but I can't find any confirmation of that. Def his left knee this time.

Spacks, unless for some abnormality, there is no reason a player now can't recover fully and never experience another. I'm also unsure if the first was partial or what. Full reco this time. Plenty of athletes who have had them and go on without issue. And age is on his side.

Knew an athlete who did two - one knee after the other - left then right - he's never had another issue though.

Jakes probably just been horribly unlucky.
