ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

TW quoted it as 2 EPL and a Championship side as a youth - not as a first team player. Just trying to see who might fit the profile. Certainly not 'experienced'. I think he had time at Sunderland Wigan and Hull.

Oh yeah... I sort of took it to mean "a Championship side as a youth" meaning the others were adult but... Perhaps optimistic... But last night was an odd time ;-)

The World Game reporting that Fitzy has been granted a release and the Caceras deal with Man City to be finalised today.
Fitzy is said to have agreed to terms elsewhere and that we will be receiving a fee for Caceras (I have read elsewhere $200k).
No problem with them going, they didnt want to drink the kool ade under the new gaffer so off you go.
Fitzy came thru the NYL with Ibini, Ryan, Sainsbury, Amini and Duke, notably he wasnt retained and left for Brisbane.
Didnt crack it in their 1st team and came back in 2013 and has been frustrating us ever since.
Has a great work rate and could be a winner if he improves his decision making, 1st touch and finishing.

I think they have been given every opportunity at CCM this season.
Is Caceras a DM or AM? Been tried in both and hasnt delivered, has attributes for both roles not enough vision for 10 and not enough mongrel for 6.
10 has been a problem for us all season and if we move to 2 screeners young Rosey and McGing have been better.
Could do better in a team surrounded by better players but I really dont see him being the Mooy replacement at Melb City.

Fitzy for me is a right sided midfielder, with Fab in the team he is going to have to compete but has had his chances there and also at 10.
Whilst the move to 2 screeners improves the defensive frailties of the team I think it also lessens their chances of getting a run.

Of the others that have gone, Bosnar was never going to be mobile or fast enough this season and was likely to be moved on by the new gaffer.
Reddy is a great keeper but a toxic human, you cant publicly bag the club/coach/team, on ya bike.
Always going to be some dramas when the team is being renewed under a new coach, expect a couple more to go as well.
Remember Brisbane in 2011 under Ange? - Craig Moore, Danny Tiatto, Charlie Miller, Josh McCloughan, Bob Malcolm and Liam Reddy gawn.

Good luck in your next chapter Nick. Hope you can go well else where. Never shirked hard work and fought hard deserves to find another home at a professional club.

Though he never came into his own, always really liked Fitzy. Like Walmsley, very disappointed he didnt want to see his contract out.

Shame he didnt want to see out the season as I think he could have played a significant role as a squaddie/substitute in TW's philosophy of 'Counter Attacking ONLY' Football.

I dont think we'll ever get 90 mins out of Fab with the way TW wants to play, which is a style that totally suits Fab game.

Fitzy would of been the most suited to replace Fab in last nites game, even with missing our last 2 games.

Of the 3 players that DID substitute on Uksok, Rosebud and Stella - NONE of them did anything to stem the tide of Victory's onslaught and Stella in particular looked no different to when I last watched him play for Victory years ago. (must say a bit perplexed by his signing)

Substitutes are supposed to make a notable difference to their side when coming on, they've got fresh leg's & their workrate should be intense - generally 20 to 30 mins is what's asked of them.

After Austin, Fab & Binga came off, we had nothing - & that's concerning.

Like to imagine what a difference Fitzy on the right, Sim on the left, with their work rates and the Budgerigar's speed up front used as our 3 subs last nite instead would of made ???

CAttacking could've continued with 'hoofed balls' being a bit more directed to the wider areas. Guess we'll never know.

I wish Fitz well wherever he lands, just hope he doesnt cause us regrettable grief in helping his new team get a win over us like Matty did. ;)
