Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I certainly don't begrudge him if it's true... but the last thing we need right now is to lose experienced players who are committed to the team :(

Could be BS but if we can get $500k+ then its not bad business.

Good potential but has held us back rather than driven us forward. Could develop into a top line player BUT never really delivered, consistently, so far.

I agree. I beleive a big chunk of our issues with scoring goals the past couple of seasons falls squarely at Cas' feet. His tendency to go missing for large periods of games and inability to consistently provide strikers with quality service have held the team back. He has always had an amazing amount of potential but has not reached it, and as the link from our defensive section to attacking it needs to be better.

I was hoping that our style last year had hindered him somewhat, but he hasn't improved this year with more attack minded tactics.

It says a lot that I feel both he and Fitzy are about as effective as each other in midfield...

Does not provide enough as an AM, does not work hard enough to be a DM.

Holds the ball well in traffic and has a good shot. Could possibly be a striker.

But meh, let him go and try and find a decent #10 "a la" Musti or Perez with the ability to provide for Roy and/or Heff.

Would be sad to see him go, as he holds the ball better than just about anyone else in the team/league. However, it feels like he rarely passes forward into the box, preferring to pass out wide. So few of our attacks this year have gone through the middle from Cas to Roy, so maybe getting someone with a bit more directness there would help us, ala Musti/Perez as mentioned above.

Hope it's true. Good luck to him.

We hopefully get $$$
Keep him out of sky blue
Don't have to be frustrated at how good he could be. Definitely not AM but maybe we can go get one.

Clut from Roar not being used properly or Carusca not starting at AU. They'd help or maybe Everton has something for us.

Kalik needs time playing against men but not at A League level. Needs a season in NPL IMO

See Gatt's tweeting that Caceres could be going to France. Probably now or never for him, interesting move if he does end up over there.

MarinerMick replying on the Sydney forum

Has been caught up in the Reddy/ phone saga.

Club has said he is free to go and agent (Tony Rallis - Soccer Stoppage Time) hates the Mariners and wants him out.

Looks like Franscesco Stella will be the replacement.

Wonder what is meant by caught up exactly?
Not implying he's the mole are they?

Hardly in the position to happily lose another quality player from the squad who we've been developing for so long without ever really realising the pay off, but I have to agree with the others thoughts above as well and I think it's pretty reasonable to hope we could find someone who can be considerably more effective than Caceres has been for us. And if he's not buying in or worse... well, not jumping to conclusions, but imagine we'd all feel the same way about that.

A release is obviously far below a sale... After all this time the club deserves to make some money here.
I'll reserve judgement on any scandal talk until it's confirmed - wouldn't be fair to the guy if it turns out not to be true.

Otherwise I'm with everyone else he's a quality player, best in the league on the ball, but doesn't/hasn't done the job/s we need him to. All going well it'll prove to be a sale which lands us some money to get a musti/perez.
Without seeing Stella's best I suspect we'll have gone backwards a step if that's Cac's replacement.

Green Gully goalkeeper Alastair Bray is set to join A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
FourFourTwo understands Bray, who has been trialling at the club along with Hume City keeper Chris Oldfield, has won the battle for the spot.
The 22-year old will take up the second goalkeeping position alongside Paul Izzo, with Liam Reddy leaving the Gosford club.
A Victorian Institute of Sport graduate, Bray has spent most of his time playing for Melbourne Heart's National Youth League side.
Two years ago he was named Heart's NYL player of the year before joining Bentleigh in 2014, helping the Victorian National Premier League side to the FFA Cup semi-finals.
In 2015 he was part of the Greens outfit that took out the Victorian NPL Grand Final with a 3-1 extra-time win over South Melbourne, before signing for Green Gully at the end of the season.
Bray was a junior at Bulleen FC and was called up by the Olyroos in September.

The same Redmayne who when called upon to make 1 save was top class and cost us the chance of a point? That Redmayne?

He has a good pedigree and meets the brief of being young and with development/future sell on potential
