Assuming that Reddy is about to get the arse, I think we've only got 18 players at the moment, with an average age of 23.9. Of these, Josh Rose, Nick Montgomery and Roy O'Donovan are the only ones over 30.

Might need to sign some extra bodies!

Not a bad point and remembering that Sim & Tricky are in that 18 .... wonders aloud how long we can keep at this level as it must cut our cost back considerably I think the max is 24 players meaning we are running at 75% of full capacity ... just maybe we are getting the funds free for a Wilko bid ...OK I can dream....

Just need Reddy to follow suit now and we are all good.

Plenty of cap freed up with Eddie and (soon) Reddy out the door.

I'm confident that TW and Hutch know what they need and are actively looking.

We are at 20 while Reddy is there - possibly 21 if Pearce is on a short term contract until a replacement keeper is signed

I reckon Charlesworth should take at least $250k ...... go to Bunnings ...... load up a gift -card .......give to Walmsley for Xmas.

We NEED a CB with a tradesman type 'attitude' .... 'tough as nails - hard as cement'

. i have three questions for you lot:
  • how short of the salary cap floor do you think we will be without reddy'n'bosnar?
  • how much do you think wilko would cost to 'bring home'?
  • do the FFA still offer (assistance) funding for returning socceroos?

Would it be ironic if Bosnar and Reddy left because they were kicking up a fuss about wanting to concentrate more on defence, and the money freed up from releasing them is used to bring Wilko back in?

In all honesty though - if ever there was a player worth considering signing as a marquee, surely Wilko would be it? - much as it'd be nice to be able to pay him in the cap, he's got decent name recognition on the coast and there should be a bit of the return of "the prodigal son" in it as well...
I daren't really hope though, so far, all I've seen is hopeful comments on football forums, relating his end-of-contract to our need, and comment purporting to be in the know, on Facebook, but nothing that actually warrants much real attention :(

Let's hope that changes though :D

a week after the end of last season, i overheard a conversation between a Hutch and Walmsley in the upstairs bar at the crown plaza, that made it sound like bringing back Wilko was big part of their master plan. Of course player managers, club owners and other offers could easily derail any potential deal in football, but the intentions were at least there...

Was told by a mate who's related to an ex-player that we haven't even spent the required miminim amount of the salary cap.

With BOZ & Reddy were NOT at 85%. With them both gone, we'd be at least $350k less again, at a bare minimum.

It's November ......... start the Chrissy shopping.

Charlesworth, dont leave me singing Kevin Bloody Wilson's -

"Hey Santa Claus, where's my fcuking bike? I've opened all this other shit & there's nothing that I like!"

Well we need the same as we did at the start of the year.

Top quality 10 and top CB (Wilko).

I'd also like another RB or teach the one we have how to defend.

And lets get the Everton keeper or the one Rowdy was talking about asap.

Spot on. Though if we get Wilko then Posco can play at RB

Salary cap is $2.55m, 90% floor spend is $2.29m.
Given Bosnar agreed to leave you would think the club had to pay out part of his remaining contract - wouldnt that still count towards the cap?
Reddy's options in Australia appear pretty limited and he apparently doesnt want to go.
