Mariners not happy with the Hutch rumours. Not surprised.

Central Coast Mariners fervently reject social media speculation today that club legend John Hutchinson has been told his “services will not be required" beyond Hyundai A-League 2014/15.
Hutchinson, together with his family and the club’s coaching staff, will make a decision regarding his playing future with the Mariners beyond this campaign in due course.

Club members, fans, and media will be informed of the decision when Hutchinson is ready.

However, Central Coast Mariners can reveal plans for Hutchinson to remain with the club in an off-field capacity once his distinguished playing days ultimately come to an end have been in the works for some time.

Hutch didn't give the impression of a guy on the way out this morning at the Stadium tour. Then again, he's a total professional, he wouldn't. I know he's got to retire sometime, I just hope it ain't sometime soon.
Asked Monty about his future and he said a new contract was in the final stages and that he loves the club and didn't want to go anywhere else, even for more money. He said he and his family loved it on the Coast and were well settled; he didn't say it but I got the impression that a return to UK even after he retires wasn't on the cards.
IMO, this would scuttle the rumours of a rift with Mossy. I'm certainly very happy with this.

@SocStoppageTime: Thoughts of a post football career were dashed for the Club stalwart. #unfair

Hopefully untrue. Although I did see an interview a while back where Hutch said he wanted to get into coaching and to one day coach the Mariners but that he would probably have to leave the club and get experience before coming back so this might have something to do with it.

Pfft, if Muscat can do it and perform fairly well, much as it pains me... Surely Hutch can as well ;)

Soccer Stoppage time reporting that Hutch will not be given a contract next year and Monty will get a 2 year extension. Very sad if true. Hopefully the club can keep him on in another support role. I guess it had to come at some point with so much potential coming through like Liam Rose.

SST keeps on breaking all the local A-League news with confirmation that Central Coast Mariners FC Captain John Hutchinson told his services will no longer be required at season end.

Hutcho already said he would retire at the end of this season.
He has actually played quite well this year.
