ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm not entirely sure that is good news.

It's good news if we're sure he's the best value left back we could get between now and the end of the 2016/7 season. Or if we think he's going to transition to CB and be our best value option there.

I'm not sure of either of those. I may well be wrong, but I'm just not sure.

I am very pleased at the news; Rose staying is much more positive than Rose leaving. He has let no one down and in this difficult year has been one of our most consistent players. Just as the Mariners have a deserved reputation for developing and progressing young players they also are very good at maintaining their veterans. Look at the influence of Hutchinson and Montgomery; or Sterjovski and McBreen. Apparently Rose has been a significant support to Micky Neill; we need the leadership of players like Rose not just for his performance on the field but also off it. He is a great clubman, he must be in the running for POTY, and he deserves this contract extension.

Yep good decision. Neill hasn't lasted even half a season without being injured so we most definitley need a starting left back other than Neill.

Mickey Neill might be injury prone (more luck than anything) and josh has shown he can cover at CB. So could be good reliable cover as well as recognisable face in the playing group which fans need some guys they know who they are and are good club men. He is one of those.
I don't think he has been great last year or this year but has looked better in last couple games back on the left.

Mickey also has a lot to learn. While promising has plenty of floors and apart from age and promise he is not better than Rose IMO

Danny McBreen
Goal machine

Won't cut it this time around. Great for the team on any day but game day. Bit like Hutch. He'll have a few moments but won't score 10.

We need someone new. Bit younger, unknown, take people by surprise.

Might explain his improvement in form though. IMO he was pretty average at the start of the season.

Soccer Stoppage time reporting that Hutch will not be given a contract next year and Monty will get a 2 year extension. Very sad if true. Hopefully the club can keep him on in another support role. I guess it had to come at some point with so much potential coming through like Liam Rose.

SST keeps on breaking all the local A-League news with confirmation that Central Coast Mariners FC Captain John Hutchinson told his services will no longer be required at season end.

I don't think it would have happened that way but wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong.
Hutch won't leave the club & the club would be f**ked in the head if they let him walk away. It is time for him to move to the next chapter but.

They also posted this:

@SocStoppageTime: Thoughts of a post football career were dashed for the Club stalwart. #unfair

Hopefully untrue. Although I did see an interview a while back where Hutch said he wanted to get into coaching and to one day coach the Mariners but that he would probably have to leave the club and get experience before coming back so this might have something to do with it.

I'd love to see 2 testimonial matches between a Mariners XI and a Victory XI played here and at AAMI for Hutch and Archie after the season's commitments are over. Hutch has been the Mariners and Archie has been Victory. They both deserve the recognition.

Squad clean out comin? 10 out of contract by 30/6/15.

7 of those are backs.

A few changes even since then but still ten of contract by 30/6/15. Rose and Sim have extended and Major and Pandurevic have been added to the squad

4 CBs Poscoliero, Bosnar, Anderson, Griffiths - 1 RB Morton - 1 HM Hutchinson - 1 CAM Pandurevic - 1 RAM Cernak - 2 CS Simon, Major

15 now contracted until 2016 and beyond

2 GK Reddy, Nash -3 LB Rose, Neill, Sim - 1 RB Roux - 3 HM Montgomery, Caceres, Kalik - 2 LAM Fitzgerald, Slater - 2 CAM Trifiro, Rose - 1 RAM Vernes - 1 CS Duke

The opportunity for a major refresh is there
