Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'd like Cornthwaite. He is off contract isn't he? Would be nice.

Also I don't want any of the WSW dead weight. They are last on the table for a reason.

I reckon we could use Saba as well , he turns over a lot of ball so would fit in beautifully , but might unlock the final 1/3 for us ?
I agree. I thought this myself. Poppa doesn't trust him but he does have a nice touch. Needs back to back full games to get some fluidity. If the boss trusted him and handed him the rains like City have Mooy I reckon he'd go alright. Mooy was a flop under Poppa as well.

What I expect to see - Brandon O'Neill from Perth and Travis Major from Blacktown.

Fox mentioned tonight Major will happen very soon been training with us all season. For another state leaguer you can have a European as well. Although they pulled back as if to say a bit more to go before that going to happen they definitely implying an import is at least on the cards but not finalised or more a rumour as if they were certain on Major

I think two of the things that made GA so successful was that when he came, we had some of our best youth coming through, and that he clearly had an arrangement with management that he would be supported in bringing in some quality players... Dutchy, Perez, Flores etc and due to his background, he had the networks and profile to help him do so...

Does Mossy and CCM have the scouting networks they need anymore?
Would players outside of the state league be drawn to play for Mossy?
Is MC willing to spend the money to persuade them?

I think the January transfers for a team that is clearly languishing, yet has a very wealthy owner...will be pretty revealing.

If we had Perth's run since inception, does anyone think we'd still be here? Plenty of people who don't like Tony Sage, but hard to argue his $$ commitment to bringing quality players to Perth like Robbie Fowler and Smeltz etc

We've heard an awful lot that the commitment to our future is best represented by a commitment to financial viability. Ok. But a commitment to on field performance MUST accompany it. If Mossy can find, and MC pays to bring in some high quality players...then personally it'd go some way to restoring my hope that we may all be trying to pull in the same direction, and things might just come good one day in a new TV deal future.

As it stands... it was pretty hilarious to think that a shit view of an an under gunned Mariners quad playing on a cricket pitch against the leagues most successful player poachers...would see the masses of North Sydney swoon and adopt the A league's latest problem child.

Hey, with Storrie around, I'm sure we can get some talented foreigners in. We'd probably rort the cap, and it would send us in debt, but we'd get a trophy out of it!

Give him chance to bring in some new talent, certainly Mossy doesn't have the network that GA did or probably the funding.

Mossy in the post match presser confirmed two signings in transfer window.
Both play in front 1/3rd. One local one overseas. He also seemed to try and add hopefully on the foreigner so not 100% given at this point by look of it.

No defenders.

“I’m certainly in the process of signing at least one if not two in the front third,” Moss revealed.

“One will probably be a local and the other I’m hoping from overseas. We’re working hard at the moment.

“I’ve got a lot of good contacts in England and Holland as well so we’ll see what comes out of the woodwork in the next couple of weeks.

“But certainly we need some support for our front boys and someone that’s a proven goal-scorer.”

Sorry to double up BG. Always enjoy your posts and insights and hadn't read that one.
Was just on 442 and read the article BigAl posted above where Mossy specifically mentions his good contacts in Holland and England... So here's hoping.

So one Australia state-leaguer forward, and POSSIBLY a foreign attacking player from Holland. Right. Cool.
