I will be watching for a big reaction from Duke. He was ahead of Taggart before the start of the season and had even scored for the socceroos. If he had of fired in season 9 it could have been him at the world cup and going to the EPL

Taggart is going to the Football League Championship, not the EPL, but your point still remains.

I was thinking the same thing, watching Taggart start against Spain. Thinking back to this time last year, when I was at a Bed and Breakfast up in the Dandenongs watching Dukey score for the Socceroos and thinking "damn how to the hell are we gonna keep a hold of him", it makes the season he had so disappointing. Not just for us, but for him.

Also makes me a bit annoyed, if Bernie had stuck with us and not gone to Shanghai SIPG he may have even made the Socceroos squad himself.

It is shaping as a big season for Duke; he must prove himself as a goalscorer not just a bloke who runs around a lot. We need him to score goals if we are to continue to challenge for honours; he needs to score goals to play for the Socceroos in the Asian Championship. As for Bernie, if his touch isn't better than Halloran's then I am missing something.

Can't feel too sad with all the success we've had.
Imagine if we had money.....it would almost be an unfair advantage over the other teams.

I have checked the VS website & they haven't got any news of a release for WeeMac on there news section. They do have the release of Danny on the 29th May. They have also taken Danny's picture off the players section but WeeMac's is still there.

The J League are on holidays for the world cup so it is feasible for WeeMac to be in Scotland however I don't think he has been released by VS yet.

However now would be the time to sort that stuff out so feasible discussions are on but no releases given at this point in time.

Well it turns out that Vegalta Sendai did release WeeMac on 11 June (feel free to use your favourite translator):
http://www.vegalta.co.jp/news/press_release/2014/06/post-1648.html

"Today is the day unfortunate for me. However, I think that it that moved this time in football my career is like a journey's best choice is life.
I is involved in Vegalta Sendai about what it was possible, everyone involved in Vegalta Sendai, big thank you to the great especially supporters. enthusiasm of supporters of Sendai will want to remain forever in my memory really nice.
the players at the end , I would like to thank to all the people involved in the club and everyone, the coaching staff. And. sincerely hope that it becomes the rest of the season of Vegalta Sendai is great
and wanted to if it is possible to visit Sendai again sometime have, and I hope the team to victory. "

So what's happening?

He has gone to Wellington. Deal was done 2 weeks back but released early. The mariners are trying to stop it but it won't happen.

The folks on Yellow Fever seem to be rather sceptical, with several supposed announcement dates passing without mention.

He's on contract. Can't go anywhere without Mariners say so.

Dibo, are you sure about that. who is he on contract to?

I will be the first to say I am wrong, but I am told its happening through a legal loophole.

The Mariners have to release him for a deal to be done which makes them trying to stop it seem redundant.

Do you see.

Mariners - "McGlinchey your released"
McGlinchey - "I'm going to Wellington"
Mariners - "........................."

Or

Mariners - "........................."
Wellington/FFA - "McGlinchey is coming"
Mariners - "no"
McGlinchey - "........................."

If it was legit it would have happened when the announcement came out.

Won't be good press for McGlinchey if it happens this way

" Well-placed sources tell Topics that Cahill
was offered to the Mariners for a guest stint
early this year during his off-season with
New York Red Bulls.

The Mariners apparently couldn't afford the
asking price. "

At the time we were up the shit as a team so wasn't a very good time to try slot in a GUEST

but Couldn't afford Tim Cahill is like saying I'd rather play at NSO. Seems stupid but something we'd do.

Although why didn't he play for WSW at the time? FFA would have paid for that for sure.

Interesting table posted on the SFC forum:

QuXufWV.jpg

For CCM, this list misses (based on post 1 of this thread):
  • Tom Slater
  • Michael Mcglinchey (though he's on loan, he's still contracted to us, unless something other than rumour contradicts me)
  • Michael Neill (might have been released due to injury)
  • Jesse Curran (might be on a full-time youth contract rather than a first team contract)
  • Anthony Kalik (might be on a full-time youth contract rather than a first team contract)
  • Liam Rose (might be on a full-time youth contract rather than a first team contract)
It has Brent Griffiths down as still being with us too, even though his contract apparently ended at the end of 13/14 and I've not heard anything to the contrary.
