ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I don't want to hear any more whinging from MC!

He needs to:
  1. Get some more BIG sponsorship dollars.
  2. Keep us on the coast

See, those things fight against each other.

We want the team on the coast, but the reason why MC wants to expand to North Sydney is to increase the fanbase, and thus increase the saturation area for sponsorship, which then, he reckons, will increase both our attendance (doubtful) and our appeal to big sponsors (possible...)

The motivation is he wants to play for the Socceroos and playing in Oz will get him on the radar.
For this reason I think we would have a good chance of signing him.

When was the last time he signalled his desire for the socceroos. 2011?
Obviously he would jump at the oppurtunity if it came...but I think he has given up hope.

And if that's true he wouldn't come here...

Unless someone wants to particularly market the Central Coast then I doubt we'd get a big sponsor. If the best WSW can get is NRMA, I think we do quite well with Masterfoods and Westinghouse.

Hmmm ... I don't think we can determine whether we are doing well based on the name of the sponsor...

The only factor that matters is $$$$

And unfortunately I think our deals are worth far less than NRMA

And I hate nrma...I hate all insurance companies...

I don't

I'm not bagging out our sponsorship deals

Just pointing out that "who the company is" doesn't matter nearly as much as the financial aspects of the sponsorship.

And that we can't really evaluate how well we are going without any information available to us...

But no doubt about it...our marketing department has the one of the toughest jobs going around.
Good luck to them...I certainly couldn't do it!

I'll agree with this.

Most successful club, but smallest fan base. We don't get the paper space or TV time the Wanderers or even the Sky Poos get. Unless someone wants to particularly market the Central Coast then I doubt we'd get a big sponsor. If the best WSW can get is NRMA, I think we do quite well with Masterfoods and Westinghouse.

Continuing with the insurance theme ING have a call centre at Tuggerah (maybe a bit too orange) and Allianz's boat insurance is Club Marine.

Korean mining company "Cores"have been struggling for years to get their Wallarah mine up and running and have been linked with lots of murky stuff but have never tried (main steam) to lift their profile as a local company engaging the local area. Large company who would give an instant face in asia.
Actually they have been as dumb as MC in their approach for their goals.

JPas out, Eddie to stay.

Pretty bummed about JPas, but hopefully he gets a starting gig elsewhere. Worst case scenario, he'll be able to walk in to a NPL starting gig.

Find out in a few weeks I guess but would be silly to swap for a similar keeper unless he wanted to leave for maybe SFC as a backup
