Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Develop a young Keeper, get another year for Bernie and bring Wee Mac back and that'll be it for me. I'm assuming Boz has signed though so if not then that is essential. The young guns will come through stronger next year with Caceres, Roux, Fitzy, Ando, Griff all getting a solid season this year, they will be much better players next season. So much youth coming with the likes of Neill, Rose, Curran, Kalik, Slater, Morton etc. Trifiro and Sim will be 25% better players with a full professional pre season behind them and the experience of the last few months. I expect Trifiro to get regular game time. He's good, and tough. Matty will be back stronger next year and I think we will see the best of Kim and Bosnar with decent pre-season.
I'd keep Seip but not if he is on top dollar. I'd also give Kwassie another year as long as he is injury free.

Yeah, I know - talking is quite different though, means we should still have a chance... As long as he ends up back with us... I'm hoping it's just their fans starting the rumours, frantically looking for hope somewhere ;)

No surprise at Pasfield going - 14 first team games in three years - but it is also about the dollars. Reddy has earned his new contract and obviously has received a significant pay rise. This means that there is not as much money to pay a No.2 so we are more likely to pick up a young prospect rather continue with Pasfield. It was a no brainer for me.

Note: Seip is quoted as being the most expensive player on the roster and has a contract for 2 more seasons. Moss wants him gone but that involves someone else wanting to pay his wages

The first post with the squad list has been updated. Interesting note is that the only remaining squad members not contracted for next season are Simo and Grif

Loan deals with ibini and weemac the pivotal movement for mariners in the coming months

And for the first time in history the mariners will be having the least active off season of any team in the aleague with only a hand full of spots not filled, will be interesting to see what some stability is like!

Ibini's future is in the hands of the guys we released mcbreen too and moss is quoted as being in negotiations with. I'd guess he will be either loaned again to us or sydney will pay a transfer for him. As far as I can tell Weemac hasn't played since Arnold left, making the bench a couple of times.

But his wages can't be that high in Euros can they???

Yes, finding another club willing to pay him the same money or more... Release him... Job done. It's what moss said the club is trying to do

Central coast born joe Gibbs and ex-gold coast youngster James brown both released by newcastle...

Brown showed a bit of potential 2-3 years ago...would love to see what he could do with a bit of confidence restored...

Wonder if mulvey would try and grab him as a squad player...mulvey knows the kid pretty well


Gibbs has now played for all 3 of our local rivals
I wouldn't rush to sign him...
See what else is available...
