ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Either way, saves him some cash. In the dark days all that was funding the club was the TV money, I doubt that's changed.
It's actually a serious point, the less money you have and the weaker the squad the more you need proper insurance, but the less money you have to spend on it. Catch 22...

:headbounce: That’s not at all what I’m saying, and I expect us to be pushing for finals at a minimum, top 4 if I’m being greedy. I just can’t think of anyone immediately readily available who would come in and add value now that the window is closed. We missed the boat on Balotelli as he’s signed elsewhere.
Would have been good enough to make the team though PP?

Window’s closed. Sure we could sign an injury replacement but they would have to be someone off contract. By the time we get someone fit and bedded into the squad (if there even was anyone who could add something of substance), would there be much of a point?
Depends how many more serious injuries occur, they seem to be building up...

Sainsbury
Di Pizio
Theohaurus
Tapp

Anyone I missed?

That's 4 starting players out...with an extra keeper we're down to 20 outfield players to select 17 from.

The bright side is some of the fringe players get a go early in the season when games are less crucial. I’m glad Diesel got a run otherwise it looked like he wasn’t going to get a run for some time.

Fornaroli absent from last Melbourne Victory squad. He would be on a contract but if possible we need a proven goal scorer who can also hold the ball up.

So looks like we sticking for the time being to a 5-2-3-1.

And when in attack the wide backs running their guts out.
So based on current availability it’s a lot easier now to pick your favourites especially the fight for the front 4 positions.

———Diesel/Roux——Kaltak——-Paul———
Kuz———————————————Maragius
——————Alfie———Steele———————
————-Doka—————Brandtman————
————————-Ngor—————————-

We need to try our luck at scoring first and in the case of the a-league scoring at all.

We need to investigate the link between mids and front and based on those who have the movement to make themselves available and back themselves I would use both Kuol and Edmo as subs for the next 2 games to see if we can shift the mentality towards looking at the future and next year.

But also using Kuol and Edmo like Sydney used Matt Simon so if we do get a goal first they will be the experience to foul and slow the game from the front once we do get a lead.
And then hopefully pinch that securing goal when the game opens up.
Which is where Kuol and Edmo both scored important goals last year.

I have have this itching feeling we need Ngor, Brandtmann and Doka all on from the start up the front now that Kuz and Maragius have the licence to bomb forwards.

Dipizio takes Eames spot if he’s fit of-course but I have have this itching feeling we need Ngor, Brandtmann and Doka all on from the start up the front now that Kuz and Maragius have the licence to bomb forwards.
That will work - 12 men often does
