ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Squad 2024/2025 ALM and ACL Elite

Anyone else think Jacko doesn’t know who his starting 11 is right now.

I feel like victor is a striker not a winger.

Ngor should be starting.

Play kuol on the wing.

Play 3 at the back.

Feel like we have shut up shop and it’s out attack that is suffering.

No win in 8 games.

Play 3 at the back.
Not convinced on 3 at the back. Kaltak is too unreliable and also isn't effectively directing the defence. He needs a fellow centre and Tapp is the only one we have.

Although 4 didn't help last game, so maybe playing 4 is as good as playing 10 on the field while we don't really have another centre.

can be risky too when we're using Maz as a wingback, though I think we've been covering those runs so far.

I think 3 at the back, with our back line, cam be exploited way too easily by playing through the centre (though fortunately in Australia we think elite attacking is to run to the corner, cross it to nobody and pray).

Too many key players injured so had to be cautious. When Paull plays in a 4 at the back both he and Kaltak are weak.
Kaltak is much better at LCB. Paull still stands and watches too much and turns his back when defending . Paull doesn't always get in position to receive the ball from him and Kaltak has to play the longer pass forward which doesn't always go to our player.

I dont think that's on him though, it's on the players to make their claim to the spot and back it up week on week. At the moment in mid and up front we are seeing inconsistency from fringe players and should be starters not delivering.

At the back we're just out of options. IMO the 3 CBs will work but Brian needs to be more vocal at steering them which is probably happening but also make sure they know when to tell him to push for the ball. If Paull tells him to shut down the attacker I think we have a chance to concede less in the last ACL game but are they established enough to have that trust?

I hope the goal that Ngor scored helps his confidence. I think he is finding his feet in the team.
Only seeing limited samples, but playing as a striker he tends to get offside a far bit (probably being too keen).
I would like to see him on the wing and running at people like he did to us in the Cup game. He made anyone in front of him look silly.

Some percentage of that is due to players not playing the ball into space immediately. The number of times I see Mauragis (as an example) getting the ball, whoever's ahead of him starting their run, he checks his options for a second and then the player's offside...
