I'm not at all worried about the DUIs. Massive mistake for anyone to make obviously with genuine risk to the lives of others. But they're here for redemption (and it's the only way we'll get players like this right now anyway) so happy to support them in their journey

With the Koreans, massive plus that they are here together as that will help them settle alot quicker. Obviously will also have an understanding on the pitch as well as off.

Mariners site says a 1 year deal. BBC quotes him as a 2 year deal. Probably a 1 year + 1 year option.

The best way to do 1 year deals.
The more I think about the signing the happier I am. Even with Millar’s assist output last year, RB was a major issue because of millars defensive frailties. Ziggy is an out and out hard nosed defender before anything else. We need that so badly. And he’ll be good enough on the ball. It’s such a smart signing, I mean what Aussie RBs are available at the same age with the amount of experience? Curran would’ve been brilliant but is still developing. I hope he settles nicely with the help of the club and thrives for us. Seems to have a captains personality on first impressions.

I won’t be upset if our 4th import is a CB in the same style, instead of a striker/attacker.

I'm expecting CB and RB to be decided between GG and Ziggy, they've both played in each position so might depend on how the fit looks in training and what Staj is wanting from each role. Clisby playing outside Rowles to cover the left side. Tongyik provides cover for either CB spot and if needed Rowles can slide over to the left. Gives us a decent amount of versatility and cover within our back line.

And I agree about Millar's defensive work, there were enough times when successful attacks came through his side and could have been shut down before the pass or cross was made.

Definitely much happier with the signings this year. Including the coach. Be much more enjoyable to follow now.

I think we'll compete - mid-table here we come! (which would be a great outcome)

Reports that Hiariej has gone home
Watch the complainers forget about him as soon as the Koreans start tearing things up. The outrage is justified if we cant replace him with quality but if we have then the club is well within their rights to want to go in another direction especially with visa players.

Yeah consolidation and small progress required. Not going to fix it straight away.
I’m liking the younger kids with Australian rep honours that his is picking up or linked to the most out of all the recruitment.

Hoping for our next golden generation

Yeah me too. It’s a much smarter way to try and rebuild.

Mariners press release said he topped the SPL with tackles last season.
In the SPL, that’s impressive.

Goes to ground a lot in his highlights reel but has great timing.

Doesn’t stand off thank Christ. Has been killing me last 4 years watching defenders who don’t know when to challenge hold until opposing strikers can literally pass it into our net.

If an Aussie keeper is avaliable whose good enough to be number 1 then i'm happy for it, but what l think we should do is look for a quality foreign keeper. No one had heard of Kurto this time last year and it turned out he was a weapon for Wellington. If we could pick up an unknown keeper whose top quality then it's worth the visa spot.

Twitter is reporting that it is a Balkan striker. Makes sense with Staj's travels.

That’s exactly what I’m after.

Hard nuts at both ends with a Balkan striker and Scottish back, , finesse and skill in he middle with the Korean duo and DDS. Throw in Oar and some youth around the edges, we are coming along nicely.

Add a coach who may actually have them fit and coordinated for the start of the year, and we may just end the season somewhere around the finals...
