ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Most if not all NPL wages are pay as you play. From season start to season end. Many clubs will make the highest/over paid players do coaching clinics or coach a youth team to help in paying those players.
Then ofcourse the extortionate rego fee’s they’ve been charging parents for decades now. I’ll never be convinced the end reward for the crazy payments in NPL are worth it. But in saying that, credit to the blokes that can take advantage of it. I know I would if I was good enough.

And if you think some NPL wages are ridiculous for the level, consider the players/coaches being paid in the past and present in our own local premier league and div 1. And to make it even funnier, some of the more consistently strong clubs (kilarney) notoriously don’t pay players.

Big part of the reason why our junior development is so messed up.

I was involved in the breakaway group from the amateurs to the federation years ago.
It all came about because the amateurs were charging an exorbitant amount for insurance ,then receiving a huge sponsorship from the same insurance company.Essentially ripping off the kids and senior players.
This group (Albury, Wagga,St.George,Macarthur, Easts) ultimately tipped the status quo and got the two bodies to form Football NSW.
Seems that they have now come the full circle and are ripping off the players again....

Zac Anderson's journey since leaving us is quite interesting: https://www.ftbl.com.au/news/zac-anderson-life-as-a-foreign-signing-in-uae-malaysia-526244/page0

Do you think he would have improved and if so would he be worth a contract?
I didn`t mind Anderson in the early years but he gave the impression he was too much of a nancyboy
in his last years and he was more concerned about his appearance than his playing form.
He has probably learnt a lot since then, so he`d be worth a go IMO. ....

Something Charlesworth should have built when the Govt were handing out the cash.

It always amazed me that we had a licenced club at the COE but tore it down to build a carpark.
Also (from memory), it was said during the planning stages of the multi story building, that there would be some sort of club-room with a bar etc where members could meet for the away games...

The hold up at the COE is about access to the site. The Council wants an alternate access to the site before any more large expansion. i.e. you can put in an extra field but you can't put in a club or hotel. Council originally were happy for the alternate access to be from Ibis Rd. However, they delayed it while the work at Wyong Rd/ Central Coast Highway was complete. Now that has been completed they are not happy with that approach and more expensive alternatives have to be considered.

Licenced clubs do not make money. Poker machines make money.

Not sure I know of too many licenced clubs that don`t have poker machines.
The club that was on the site certainly did have them.
I realise that it was a branch of the existing RSL club in Wyong but surely that could have been sorted.
