ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He hasn't played since September which is a tad worrying but has a decent pedigree.
An out of shape K league footballer would probably give most A league players a run for their money. But the good thing about getting in early is we should have him on board for a full preseason. Keep this up and we might avoid disgracing ourselves in the FFA cup.

i thought we should of went after him when he left city. I am quite happy with this signing overall he still has room to grow but i guess with rowles resigning are we going to go with a CB pairing with Rowles and Tongyik? that scares me abit
Happy with that. I think we must also be looking at an experienced CB and probably more crucially a new keeper.

Hmmm, not quite the experienced partner for Rowles we wanted but seems like decent squad depth and should keep Rowles on his toes assuming they are both vying to be part of a CB pairing.

So our academy captain and local who bleeds yellow is not worth an A-League contract and allowed to leave but Tongyik whose never ever impressed and is at most an average CB is? I don't get it, what happened to this club promoting from within?

Mariners: what was the only club with a worse defense last season?
Crowd: Brisbane
Mariners: let's sign one of their defenders!

He had a blinder in his first season at cited. Looked a future roo but has been average since. Again like the majok signing I’d rather give a youth player the contract.
Maybe the club has some Africans they are looking at so are building a small group to help with transition.... that’s a stretch I know.

I feel extremely uneasy about tongyik signing. People were raving about him when he was at city. Fast forward what, 2years? And when he’s played consistently he’s been bad.
If this rumour has turned true then expect the Majok one imminently.

SIGH.

And I’d say they’ll announce Hoole and Kennedy staying tonight.

Fans on Hoole re-signing: f**king kidding?
Mariners: but he score 2 free kicks in one game that we still lost?

I’ve got no info on how things went down but let me pitch another possible angle:

CCM recognises he’s on the cusp of stepping up but is in a precarious situation after a terrible bunch of seasons and is wary of introducing another young player to our backline. They’re prepared to offer him a contract but it’s most likely as a squaddie. Glassock’s agent looks abroad and finds he can get a deal and most likely more senior minutes playing in a lesser Asian league that’s a step up on youth/npl2. Maybe better money too and it’s a change of scenery.

Club gives its blessing and says let’s keep in touch and see if we can get you back here in a year or two when we’ve stabilised our situation and he’s got minutes under his belt at a senior level.

Maybe that’s optimistic but it might be a better situation than dropping him in to a team that’s rebuilding or being 4th choice CB.

He wasn't offered a contract. Before the youth structure change (Nick Montgomery taking over) the previous coaching staff told all 1999 born youth players they could leave if they wanted.
